You can tell the state of high school football recruiting by the way colleges and universities are planning ahead.
It used to be the upcoming senior class was the only thing that coaches worried about, but as spring football is getting started this week, every class is being watched and evaluated as colleges now plan rosters two and three years in advance.
One of the easiest things about recruiting Miami-Dade and Broward Counties is on any given year there will be an abundance of major college football talent on display.
While many gravitate toward the more recognized programs, it’s the lesser known and publicized programs that have talent that is often hidden as well.
As we continue to uncover and promote football talent from all the events we see live, the fans and college coaches benefit from getting firsthand information instead of relying on those who sit home and watch videos on computer.
Today, we bring you some of the Class of 2025 rising juniors who continue to receive their share of the spotlight. Not only locally, but throughout the nation.
Here are some gifted football players to keep an eye on over the next two years:
OFFENSIVE PROSPECTS ARE STILL AMAZING
There is no getting around that when colleges talk about the offensive prospects in this region, they run out of words.
Each and every year, quarterbacks, running backs, receivers and linemen from the two counties emerge and make a statement.
Among the quarterbacks who have emerged include Ennio Yapoor (6-0, 210, Miami Norland), Devin Gonzalez (6-1, 180, Weston Cypress Bay), recent transfer Bekkem Kritza (Miami Central, 6-5, 195) and Camden Hartzell (6-1, 180, Fort Lauderdale Calvary Christian).
Running backs are also stepping up their game – with Deandre Desinor (5-10, 180, Plantation American Heritage), Nicholas McCall (Miami Central), Byron Louis (6-1, 205, Plantation American Heritage), Jaquari Lewis (5-10, 175, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna), King Davis (5-10, 175, Miami Northwestern) and Sterling Joseph (5-8, 180, Miami Edison).
Receivers are always going to be plentiful - with Jahmari Smith (Miami Northwestern), versatile Jade Card (6-3, 200, Miami Norland), Cortez Mills (6-1, 170, Homestead), newcomer Kamare Williams (6-3, 185, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna), Joshua Moore (6-3, 180, Pembroke Pines West Broward), Kyle Washington (5-10, 165, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna), Terrence Honeywood (Miami Norland, 6-0, 150), Darriel Harper III (5-9, 150, Miami Christopher Columbus), Anjuan ‘Ace’ Coleman (5-11, 165, Miami Central), Samari Reed (6-3, 180, Coconut Creek Monarch), Ronald Towns (5-10, 165, Miami Dr. Krop), Sedric Melvin (5-8, 170, Homestead South Dade), Kha’leal Sterling (Miami Central), Shamar Fowles (6-1, 175, Hialeah American), Cameron Sapp (5-9, 175, Miami Palmetto), Kenny Williams (5-10, 160, Miami Gulliver Prep), Darius Johnson (5-11, 160, Miami Edison), Johnny Arneus (6-0, 180, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), Andre Barrington (5-9, 160, Plantation), Kareem Glass (5-10, 175, Miami Northwestern) and Darius Clements (5-11, 165, Miami Southridge).
There are always going to be some emerging offensive line talent – and with Caleb Harris (6-3, 265, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), Dayen Marouf-Araibi (6-3, 275, Plantation American Heritage), Michael Dean (6-5, 305, Homestead) and Darius Curington (6-2, 280, Miami Jackson), the table is set for the future.
THE DEFENSE STILL IMPRESSES
Check any college roster across the state, region and country and you will find plenty of Miami-Dade and Broward talent on the defensive side of the ball.
So many gifted linemen, linebackers and secondary standouts used the two counties as a springboard to the next level – and beyond.
The 2025 class boasts some quality linemen – led by four Miami Central prospects in the nation’s No. 1 prospect Armondo Blount (6-3, 250), Anthony Smith (6-2, 290), Randy Adirika (6-4, 248) and Deangelo Thompson (6-3, 215). Recent Notre Dame commit Davion Dixon (6-3, 305, Miami Belen Jesuit), Jacob Joseph (6-2, 215, Davie Western), Craig Comrie (6-0, 217, Weston Cypress Bay) and Tarrell Greene (6-3, 250, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna).
Linebackers have also picked up steam and recognition with Hector Chavez (5-10, 210, Miami Christopher Columbus), Ezekiel Marcelin (6-0, 190, Miami Central), Dylan Gill (OLB, 6-3, 210, Miami Killian), Jack Sawyer (OLB, 6-1, 220, Hialeah) and Nimari Brantley (OLB, 6-2, 230, Coconut Creek).
The secondary is always talented – and college coaches come away with dozens every year. This year there is Ben Hanks Jr. (CB, 6-1, 160, Miami Booker T. Washington), Michigan commit Chris Ewald (CB, 6-0, 170, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna), Amari Wallace (S, 5-11, 165, Miami Central), Jordan Rich (CB, 5-10, 170, Plantation American Heritage), Lance Grant (CB, Homestead), Antonio Branch (S, 6-2, 175, Miami Booker T. Washington), Sekou Smith (S, 5-11, 155, Miami Central), Tywan Cox (CB, 5-11, 160, Hollywood-Chaminade-Madonna), Davaris Lawson (CB, 5-10, 170, Sunrise Piper), Tavius Horne Jr. (CB, 5-11, 155, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), Travares Daniels II (S, 6-1, 190, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas) and Bryce Fitzgerald (Athlete, 6-1, 175, Miami Belen Jesuit).
SPECIAL TEAMS
Kickers and punters are also on a fast-track with plenty of national recognition. Among those receiving attention include Jacob Corredera (P/K, 5-7, 145, Miami St. Brendan), Brent Fardette (K/P, Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons), Luca Guerra (PK, Doral Academy), Gavin Katz (K, 5-11, 150, South Plantation), Salvatore Mancuso (K, Miami Gulliver Prep), Nathan Mocada (Hialeah Gardens Mater Academy), Adrian Muelle (PK/P, Miami Belen Jesuit) and Nicholas Romero (K, 5-8, 145, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas).

If you have followed us long enough, you already know that very few promote EVERY and Broward Counties – at ALL levels.
With that in mind, colleges coaches from Hawaii to Maine and every in between keep an eye on what we produce.
We have never been in this to sell subscriptions or spotlight star-rated athletes. This is ALL about getting prospect information out to colleges and universities at every level.
With that said – and you know what we do and why we are here 365 days a year going to events, practices, camps, combines, and games and NOT sitting behind a computer – we will spend this off-season getting everyone promoted.
For over a half century, we have been honored to help football prospects across the state of Florida get some well-deserved recognition.
We not only put these prospects on this website for all fans to see and follow, but all the information that is provided to us is passed on to the over 500 college coaches that are part of our recruiting coverage. Today’s EYE ON RECRUITING will be on FORT LAUDERDALE (@FlyinglsFB) with veteran head coach Richard Dunbar, whose Flying Ls were 6-5 with wins over Deerfield Beach, Hallandale, Tallahassee Leon, Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson, Weston Cypress Bay and Fort Lauderdale Stranahan in the regular season before dropping a first round state playoff game to Fort Lauderdale Dillard.

When it comes to promoting and getting every player a piece of the spotlight, we have long stepped to the front.
It does not matter what level athletes in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties want to play at, we are always there to give them a chance for the hundreds of college coaches who follow us a chance to see them.
Each day during the spring and summer we will showcase football prospects – some who are already on the radar – while others we are introducing for the first time.
Today, we give you five Class of 2025 football players to keep an eye on:
Dayen Marouf-Araibi, OL, 6-3, 270, Platation American Heritage. The Patriots really found someone special last season – during a run to the 2M state title game with this quality big man. Watch him play and you see a big, strong football player who continues to improve technique while getting stronger. You can see how is on field personality is all about business as he showed throughout the 2022 season.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/15713322/637d46b53df58405202ae4d4
Antonio Branch, S/CB, 6-2, 175, Miami Booker T. Washington. Another prospect that we had the pleasure of watching since he started playing at the high school level and this versatile talent has only begun. No matter if it’s at the safety position or corner, he adjusts and performs at a high level. A superb tackler who can do it all and college coaches have already watched what he brings to the table. Big time potential. He also gets it done in the classroom – with his 3.5 GPA.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/16356296/Antonio-Branch-Jr
Devin Gonzalez, QB, 6-1, 180, Weston Cypress Bay. Ever since his freshman year at Pembroke Pines Flanagan, there was no doubting his ability and future. An accurate passer who displays plenty of leadership and finds a way to move the chains. Throws a very good long ball, does a tremendous job with his short and intermediate game as well. His ability to break out of the pocket and run is also vital to the success of the Lightning.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/16423482/Devin-Gonzalez
Ronald Towns, WR, 5-10, 170, Miami Dr. Krop. On a team that has produced more than its share of football talent, along comes this playmaker, who brings it all to the football field. Runs solid patterns, is lethal in space and is learning how to be more technically sound in every event he attends. Should explode this spring as more college coaches will have the chance to see one of the fastest-rising prospects.
TAPE: https://access.qwikcut.com/highlights/63475fa4d2b2bbe372ff4ff1
Kamare Williams, WR, 6-3, 185, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna. This program has added yet another piece to the offensive puzzle. This is a rising junior that has size, athletic ability and plenty of skill. Coming south from Delray Beach Atlantic, this coming season could be huge as the defenses will have their hands full with the returning players the Lions have. He potential is through the roof!

As spring is now just a week away, a lot of emphasis in south Florida has been on the underclassmen – with profiles, lists and other exposure events pointing toward the 2025 and 2026 student/athletes, but let’s back it up and look at this upcoming senior class.
The group of talent that makes of the Class of 2024 is indeed something special – and as many of them are committing for their future – there are others who may not be getting their piece of the exposure spotlight.
As you know, we continue to bring you more prospects in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties daily than any other source. While many are focused and consumed with the star-rated prospects, we cover everyone at every level.
Today, we bring you five more prospects to keep an eye on in the Class of 2024, as spring is set to start:
Kai Bandy, K/P, 5-8, 150, Pembroke Pines Somerset Academy. When it comes to finding talented special teams prospects, south Florida is quickly becoming home to some impressive talent. As the recent South Florida Special Teams Showcase backed up, the spotlight is shining on some quality, kickers, punters and long snappers, and this quality standout is one of the elites in the state – after a stellar junior season with the Panthers. With a new head coach in place, he is expected to pick up where he left off in 2022 and will once again be among the best with a best 55-yard field goal and 70-yard kickoff in his resume.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/15342057/Kai-Bandy
Benjamin Blackburn, TE, 6-6, 230, Miami Christopher Columbus. Want the blueprint for a student/athlete? Here he is. Solid football prospect who catches the ball, creates separation, and gets open. He is also a tremendous blocker, who uses his hard work in the weightroom as an advantage for the defending 4A state champions. Now for the great equalizer – this is a more than outstanding student who happens to be in the very top of his 2024 class with a 5.47 grade point average. Is being pursued by several colleges for good reason.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/14626994/Benjamin-Blackburn
Dinellson Exume, DL, 6-5, 240, Miami Edison. Along with his brother, this is one of those standouts who has gotten better every year for the Red Raiders. Over the past six months, he has gained weight, got stronger and continued to mature as a football talent. He is extremely quick off the ball, and the thing that college coaches have fallen in love with is his straight-line speed. He can motor for a player with his size.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/15301074/Dinellson-Exume
Jamorie Flagg, DL, 6-3, 300, Miami Booker T. Washington. From the first time we watched him play three years ago, there was no doubt that this was going to be a quality prospect, and he has not disappointed at all. A big, quick and talented football player, he gets off the ball as fast as anyone you will see. Strong and physical, he dominated the line of scrimmage the past two seasons, and you can expect him to do it once again in 2023. Many across the nation may not give him the respect he deserves, but that will change in a major way this spring and into the off-season.
TAPE: Jhttps://www.hudl.com/profile/15504841/Jamorie-Flagg
Tovani Mizell, RB, 6-0, 195, Davie Western. He’s back and is ready for his final season at the school level. The well-traveled standout speedster returns from DeMatha High School in Hyattsville, Maryland after one season and is expected to be a difference maker for the Wildcats this coming season. In addition, his 3.4 Grade point average has been a calling card for colleges who continue to recruit him. Has run a 4.3 (laser 40) which showcases his overall athleticism. Keep an eye on him this season – it promises to be a tremendous season.
