Week 10: Exciting Final Two Weeks In Miami-Dade and Broward

For some Miami-Dade and Broward County teams, the regular season comes to an end this week. For others, they will have two games left before the start of the playoffs.

While a few spots remain for the state playoffs, this week will see some impressive matchups take place – along with a few rivalries.

Congratulations to those programs who have already qualified for the state playoffs – and good luck to those trying to qualify in the next two weeks.

Here is how Week 10 shapes up:

1. Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna (1M, 8-0). LAST WEEK: The Lions stayed perfect with a 64-0 win against Hollywood Avant Garde Academy. THIS WEEK: An away game against Boca Raton Saint John Paul II. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end against Lakewood in St. Petersburg.

2. Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas (3M, 8-1). LAST WEEK: The Raiders had no problem with Coconut Creek Monarch, winning 35-19. THIS WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a home district game against Fort Lauderdale Dillard. NEXT GAME: State Playoffs, TBA.

3. Miami Norland (2M, 8-0). LAST WEEK: The Vikings stayed unbeaten with a 16-3 win against No. 8 Miami Christopher Columbus, 16-3, in the GMAC finals. THIS WEEK: An away district contest against North Miami Beach. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a road game against Miami Killian.

4. Miami Central (2M, 6-3). LAST WEEK: The Rockets won their GMAC game against No. 18 Miami Southridge, 41-0 and 55-0 against Miami Carol City. THIS WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with an away district game against Miami Gardens Monsignor Pace. NEXT GAME: State Playoffs, TBA.

5. Homestead (3M, 7-1). LAST WEEK: The Broncos won their GMAC Week contest against Miami Edison, 28-14. THIS WEEK: The regular season comes to an end on the road against Miami Belen Jesuit. NEXT GAME: State Playoffs, TBA.

6. Plantation American Heritage (2M, 6-1). LAST WEEK: The Patriots had little problem with southwest Florida power Naples, 38-17. THIS WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a road district game against Hallandale. NEXT GAME: State Playoffs, TBA.

7. Miami Palmetto (4M, 7-1). LAST WEEK: The Panthers remained hot with a GMAC Week victory over Miami Dr. Krop, 44-9. THIS WEEK: Will have the week off. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a road game at Miami Beach.

8. Miami Christopher Columbus (4M, 7-2). LAST WEEK: The Explorers dropped a GMAC Week championship game to No. 3 Miami Norland, 16-3. THIS WEEK: The regular season comes to an end at home against Miami Lakes Barbara Goleman. NEXT GAME: State Playoffs, TBA.

9. Miami Booker T. Washington (2M, 7-2). LAST WEEK: The Tornadoes thrust themselves in the Top 25 with three wins in eight days, including Homestead South Dade, 24-7, and Miami Edison, 13-0. THIS WEEK: The regular season comes to an end against Westland Hialeah. NEXT GAME: State Playoffs, TBA.

10. Coconut Creek (3M, 7-2). LAST WEEK: The Cougars scored early and often in a 39-0 win over Hollywood McArthur. THIS WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a home district game against Deerfield Beach. NEXT GAME: State Playoffs, TBA.

11. Pompano Beach Blanche Ely (3M, 7-1). LAST WEEK: The Tigers got by Sunrise Piper. 33-26. THIS WEEK: A road district game at West Boca Raton. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end against No. 16 Dillard.

12. Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons (2M, 6-2). LAST WEEK: The Chiefs won on the road against Boca Raton, 31-19. THIS WEEK: A home district game against Fort Lauderdale Stranahan. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end at home against state-rated Clearwater Central Catholic.

13. Davie Western (4M, 5-3). LAST WEEK: The Wildcats continued to improve and get ready for the past season with a 14-6 win at No. 19 Miramar. THIS WEEK: A home district game against Coral Springs Coral Glades. NEXT WEEK: The regular season ends on the road against No. 17 Plantation.

14. Hollywood South Broward (3M, 7-1). LAST WEEK: The Bulldogs continued to tune up for the post season with a 38-21 win against Parkland Douglas. THIS WEEK: A Saturday morning home game at Hollywood Hills at 11 a.m. NEXT WEEK: The regular season ends with a home game against No. 19 Miramar.

15. Coconut Creek Monarch (4M, 6-2). LAST WEEK: The Knights were beaten by No. 2 Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas, 35-19. THIS WEEK: A home district game against Coral Springs. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end on the road against Deerfield Beach.

16. Lauderdale Dillard (3M, 5-3). LAST WEEK: The Panthers picked up two wins this past week – 44-14 against Fort Lauderdale, and XXXX against Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson. THIS WEEK: A district contest on the road against No. 2 Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a home game against No. 11 Pompano Beach Blanche Ely.

17. Plantation (3M, 6-2). LAST WEEK: The Colonels came up with a convincing 52-13 win against Deerfield Beach. THIS WEEK: A home game against Sunrise Piper. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a home game against No. 13 Davie Western.

18. Miami Southridge (3M, 5-3). LAST WEEK: The Spartans lost a GMAC Week contest against No. 4 Miami Central, 41-0. THIS WEEK: An away district contest against Southwest Miami. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a home game against Homestead South Dade.

19. Miramar (3M, 4-4). LAST WEEK: The Patriots dropped a home game against No. 13 Davie Western, 14-6. THIS WEEK: A home district game against rival Miramar Everglades. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a road game against No. 14 Hollywood South Broward.

20. Hialeah (3M, 7-1). LAST WEEK: The T-Breds came up with a 26-20 GMAC Week win against Miami High, which propelled them into the Top 20 for the first time this year. THIS WEEK. A road game against Miami Carol City. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a road game at Miami Dr. Krop.
