In the ever-changing world of high school football in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, there is a new No. 1 team, heading into the third week of the season.
With Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna’s convincing win over state-rated Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons, and four-time defending state champion Miami Central’s impressive five-point loss at national power Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, the two teams traded places after two weeks of the 2023 season.
Both teams will continue to get tested over the next few weeks, so you never know what will take place, but neither is expected to stray too far from the elite programs locally, statewide, and nationally.
Miami Christopher Columbus, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas, Miami Norland, and Plantation American Heritage remain unchanged, heading into the third week.
