Miami-Dade, Broward 2027 Prospects Getting National Attention

As we are now fully into the off-season, there will be football prospects – in every class and at each position – that will be directly in the spotlight.

With a majority of the 2025 seniors getting ready to move on to the next level, the spotlight is starting to shine directly on the rising senior (2026) class.

Those current juniors will be the focus at camps, combines, 7-on-7 events and just about everything else that is all about football. But as they are receiving all that attention, right next to them ready to step into that spotlight are the rising juniors in the Class of 2027.

In this day of recruiting, it is never too early to showcase skills that will one day translate into a scholarship. The rising junior class has already left a calling card – and this off-season – they are ready to step up and make an impact.

With so many elite 2027 prospects in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, we take a look at five who are already grabbing the attention of college coaches throughout the country.

Trezavant Boyd, CB, 5-10, 160, Miami Booker T. Washington. At a school that has blazed a trail for so many elite football players to follow, here is another that may have gotten lost in the attention that was following University of Florida signee Ben Hanks Jr. What we have in this quality talent is someone who is an athletic cornerback with outstanding ball skills and tremendous vision. In addition to what he does in the secondary, this is a quality special teams performer, returning kicks, and will even give the Tornadoes a boost on the offensive side of the ball.

Jonathan Bueno, RB, 5-10, 190, Plantation American Heritage. From the moment he took the field as a freshman at Miami True North Classical Academy to last year at Davie Western, what we saw is a big time back who was quick enough to hit holes, powerful enough to extend plays and gifted enough to take over a game. He will be a huge asset for the defending 4A state champions with his skill, speed and knack of breaking off the big play. Will be one of the best in south Florida over the next two seasons.

Arwin Jackson, RB, 5-10, 170, Hollywood Chaminade Madonna. This impressive running back made a major debut as a freshman, giving the Lions another quality runner, who played a huge role in yet another state title. Although banged up a bit this past season, he gave this program someone that would make big plays anywhere on the field. As he prepares for his junior season, he has an opportunity to be special – combining his line from scrimmage running along with being able to catch and also block. He participates in track & field, which only enhances his overall game. Tremendous student in the classroom as well.

Mark Matthews, OT, 6-6, 275, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas. Surprise – the Raiders have another elite line prospects with size, athleticism and the ability to open holes for the running game and pass block. Great feet, improving strength and a motor that never stops. With two full seasons left – on the football field and in the weightroom – this is easily someone who will continue to receive national recognition and plenty of exposure for a program that has won six straight state titles.

Sean Thompson, WR, 6-2, 190, Miami Central. Make no mistake about this impressive football talent who many have watched since his freshman year at Hollywood South Broward. In addition to what he brings to the table as a pass catcher, his ability to block is already drawing positive praise from college coaches who have watched him mature over the past two years. With a solid off-season, you can expect his role to continue to expand with the Rockets. This is truly a talented prospect who will have an opportunity to blow up this coming season as more analysts will get the chance to see him perform live.
