Week 9: The Final Three Weeks!

I know we have said it the past month, but this season has flown by, and for some teams, way too fast.

As we have three weeks left in the regular season, there are still a number of programs searching for that coveted post season spot.

Because of the challenging schedules we have already watched several Miami-Dade and Broward programs who figure to make a major run at a state title. The only question remains if which programs get hot at the right time?

Here is how Week 9 shapes up:

1. Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna (1M, 7-0). LAST WEEK: The Lions had the week off. THIS WEEK: A home district game against Hollywood Avant Garde Academy. NEXT WEEK: The Lions are scheduled to be in Boca Raton for a game with Saint John Paul II Academy.

2. Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas (3M, 7-1). LAST WEEK: The Raiders rolled to a district win against Fort Lauderdale, 42-0 for their third shutout this season. THIS WEEK: An away contest at No. 11 Monarch at Coconut Creek. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a home district game against No. 18 Fort Lauderdale Dillard.

3. Miami Norland (2M, 7-0). LAST WEEK: The Vikings won a thrilling district title game against No. 4 Miami Central, coming from behind and won 29-26 in overtime. THIS WEEK: A huge GMAC Week contest against No. 6 Miami Christopher Columbus. NEXT WEEK: An away district contest against North Miami Beach.

4. Miami Central (2M, 3-2). LAST WEEK: The Rockets lost a tough district title game to No. 4 Miami Norland in overtime, 29-26. THIS WEEK: A GMAC Week road game on Thursday against No. 17 Miami Southridge. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with an away district game against Miami Gardens Monsignor Pace.

5. Homestead (3M, 6-1). LAST WEEK: Captured the district title against Miami Southridge, 45-14. THIS WEEK: A GMAC home game against Miami Edison. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end on the road against Miami Belen Jesuit.

6. Miami Christopher Columbus (4M, 7-1). LAST WEEK: The Explorers rebounded from the loss to Homestead with a convincing 44-8 win against Doral Academy. THIS WEEK: A GMAC Week game against No. 3 Miami Norland. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end at6 home against Miami Lakes Barbara Goleman.

7. Plantation American Heritage (2M, 5-1). LAST WEEK: Wrapped up yet another district title with a 63-16 win against Fort Lauderdale Stranahan. THIS WEEK: A home non district game against Naples. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a road district game against Hallandale.

8. Miami Palmetto (4M, 6-1). LAST WEEK: A district clinching 42-34 win against Homestead South Dade. THIS WEEK: A GMAC Week Thursday home game against Miami Dr. Krop. NEXT WEEK: Will have the week off.

9. Miami Booker T. Washington (2M, 6-2). LAST WEEK: Beat Miami Northwestern, 28-20, and then came back on Monday and wrapped up the district title with a 13-0 win over Miami Edison. THIS WEEK: A Thursday road game against Homestead South Dade in a GMAC Week game. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a home against Westland Hialeah.

10. Coconut Creek (3M, 6-2). LAST WEEK: The Cougars all but wrapped up a district title for the second straight year with a 42-28 win against West Boca Raton. THIS WEEK: An away game at Hollywood McArthur. NEXT WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a home district game against Deerfield Beach.

11. Coconut Creek Monarch (4M, 6-1). LAST WEEK: The Knights were off. THIS WEEK: A home game against No. 2 Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas. NEXT WEEK: A home district game against Coral Springs.

12. Pompano Beach Blanche Ely (3M, 6-1). LAST WEEK: The Tigers won a 36-0 district contest against Deerfield Beach. THIS WEEK: A Saturday night home game against Sunrise Piper. NEXT WEEK: A road district game at West Boca Raton.

13. Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons (2M, 5-2). LAST WEEK: The Chiefs took care of Hallandale in a 63-6 district win. THIS WEEK: A road game against Boca Raton. NEXT WEEK: A home district game against Fort Lauderdale Stranahan.

15. Davie Western (4M, 4-3). LAST WEEK: The Wildcats wrapped up another district title with a 56-0 win against Cypress Bay. THIS WEEK: A road game at No. 19 Miramar. NEXT WEEK: A home district game against Coral Springs Coral Glades.

16. Hollywood South Broward (3M, 6-1). LAST WEEK: The Bulldogs captured their first district title in over three decades with a 53-14 win against Hollywood McArthur.

THIS WEEK: A Thursday away contest at Parkland Douglas. NEXT WEEK: A Saturday morning home game at Hollywood Hills at 11 a.m.

17. Miami Southridge (3M, 6-2). LAST WEEK: The Spartans dropped a district championship game to No. 5 Homestead, 45-14. THIS WEEK: A GMAC Week home game against No. 4 Miami Central. NEXT WEEK: An away district contest against Southwest Miami.

18. Lauderdale Dillard (3M, 4-3). LAST WEEK: The Panthers won a big non district game against No. 20 Plantation, 28-26. THIS WEEK: A district game on the road against Fort Lauderdale on Friday and makeup road game on Monday, Oct. 23 against Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson. NEXT WEEK: A district contest on the road against No. 2 Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas.

19. Miramar (3M, 4-3). LAST WEEK: The Patriots won a key district game against Hialeah American, 27-8. THIS WEEK: A home non district game against No. 15 Davie Western. NEXT WEEK: A home district game against rival Miramar Everglades.

20. Plantation (3M, 5-2). LAST WEEK: The Colonels dropped a non-district game to No. 18 Fort Lauderdale Dillard, 28-26. THIS WEEK: An away non-district contest at Deerfield Beach. NEXT WEEK: A home game against Piper.
