Head-To-Head Matchups Highlight Miami-Dade/Broward Week 4

Before the 2023 high school football season began, many experts warned about the first five weeks of the year.

As we head toward Week No. 4, you can see exactly what everyone was talking about – with key matchups taking center stage.

With the Jewish holiday switching many games around this week, there are some spotlight contests that will feature several teams within the Top 20 who are playing one another.

While this past week saw very little shakeup at the top, there were several programs who moved up and down the listing of teams.

Here is how Week 4 shapes up:

1. Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna (1M, 3-0). LAST WEEK: The Lions jumped all over national power Bergen Catholic, New Jersey, 61-21. THIS WEEK: at No. 6 Plantation American Heritage. NEXT WEEK: at No. 2 Miami Central.

2. Miami Central (2M, 1-1). LAST WEEK: Beat No. 12 Miami Booker T. Washington, 38-28. THIS WEEK: Miami Carol City. NEXT WEEK: No. 1 Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna.

3. Miami Christopher Columbus (4M, 3-0). LAST WEEK: Rolled to a 42-14 win at Tampa Jesuit. THIS WEEK: No. 7 Miami Palmetto on Saturday. NEXT WEEK: A home game against No. 17 Miami Northwestern.

4. Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas (3M, 2-1). LAST WEEK: Narrowly escaped at home against Cocoa, 37-36. THIS WEEK: No. 16 Davie Western. NEXT WEEK: Port St. Lucie Treasure Coast.

5. Miami Norland (2M, 3-0). LAST WEEK: Dominated Miami Southridge on the road, 54-6. THIS WEEK: Miami Gardens Monsignor Pace. NEXT WEEK: Home against Hialeah American.

6. Plantation American Heritage (2M, 2-0). LAST WEEK: Had an away game against Belle Glade Glades Central postponed. THIS WEEK: No. 1 Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna. NEXT WEEK: Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons.

7. Miami Palmetto (4M, 3-0). LAST WEEK: Beat Miami Killian, 38-0. THIS WEEK: at No. 3 Miami Christopher Columbus. NEXT WEEK: A home game against Clearwater Academy International.

8. Homestead (3M, 2-1). LAST WEEK: Beat St. Petersburg Lakewood, 35-7. THIS WEEK: Southwest Miami. NEXT WEEK: Bye.

9. Plantation (3M, 3-0). LAST WEEK: The Colonels rolled over Parkland Douglas, 49-3. THIS WEEK: at No. 13 Coconut Creek. NEXT WEEK: Bye

10. Pompano Beach Blanche Ely (3M, 2-0). LAST WEEK: Beat Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson, 43-8. THIS WEEK: Coral Springs. NEXT WEEK: No. 13 Coconut Creek.
