With the Greater Miami Athletic Conference wanting to showcase their member schools with a week devoted to teams playing one another, the GMAC Week will get started this evening.
The 7 p.m. start at Milander Stadium in Hialeah will feature the Patriots of Hialeah American (2M, 4-3) against the Golden Hawks of Miami Springs (2M, 6-2).
This evening’s matchup gets four days of action started that will culminate on Saturday night.
The idea of GMAC Week was to showcase some of the state’s best teams in the #305 as they battle against each other in a north vs. south format.
Last year’s title game between Miami Central and Miami Christopher Columbus featured two state champions in an exciting game that came down to the fourth quarter before the Rockets emerged, 35-28.
This year, the defending 4M state champion Explorers will return to the big game against the surprising and undefeated Miami Norland Vikings.
