As we continue to promote and examine every position and every player in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, we continue to uncover some impressive prospects.
No matter what position or class, we have had the chance to watch film, see athletes live in so many settings that when we rank players, we have a much better feel about players than most who sit behind a computer and watch very few - if any of our standouts perform live and in person.
Recruiting has sadly reached a level where fans, coaches and players will follow a source just on the lists they produce – never taking into consideration that many players they rank or evaluate comes from video and NOT watching them in a live setting to determine character and the intangibles that truly make up the recruiting process.
THOSE 2024 LINEBACKERS ARE ON THE RISE
One of the positions we all continue to watch are the linebackers. With many underclassmen starting to make their way, today we look at some rising seniors in the class of 2024.
Remember, since hundreds and hundreds of college coaches view our lists, getting it right is indeed the most important part of what we do.
If there are any linebackers who no longer play the position or who have transferred, please let us know so we can immediately make the change. Just send to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

WINTER GARDEN, Fl. – When the Under Armour All-American camp headed to Florida, you just knew that there would be some impressive headliners and showstoppers.
With several media members and recruiting analysts on hand at West Orange High School, they were treated some amazing performances during a five hour period.
From nationally-rated prospects to south Florida stars, the day certainly gave the Sunshine State a reason to be proud of what’s ahead in Classes 2024, 2025 and event 2026.
While prospects sch as LSU commit Colin Hurley (QB, Jacksonville Trinity Christian), Korey Duff Jr. (TE/WR, Melville (N.Y.) St. Anthony’s, Clearwater Academy International OL Jason Zandamela, Jacksonville RAINES 2025 OL Solomon Thomas, Athlete Micahi Danzy from Tallahassee FSU High, Camdon Frier, Athlete, an FSU commit from Lake City Columbia, Sean Sevillano Jr., DL, Clearwater Academy International, defensive back Zavier Mincey, who was fresh off the basketball court for Daytona Beach Mainland, defensive back Cai Bates from Orlando Edgewater and DL L.J. McCray from Daytona Beach Mainland, whose father (Lawal) was a one-time head coach at Boyd Anderson, there were some south Florida stars who also turned heads.
Among those Miami-Dade and Broward standouts included recent Miami Jackson transfer Edge rusher Tyclean Luman (Miami Norland), who was voted co-MVP for the defensive line. Others were Chaminade-Madonna QB Cedrick Bailey, one of the top passers. The running backs also received plenty of recognition with recent Dillard transfer Chris Wheatley-Humphrey, Miami Booker T. Washington Gerald Modest Jr., and recent Tampa Wharton and IMG Academy transfer Stacy Gage (St. Thomas Aquinas). Gage was presented with an invitation to the Under Armour All-America Game.
Chaminade-Madonna standout athlete Joshisa Trader and teammate defensive back Zaquan Patterson, and St. Thomas Aquinas defensive backs Ryan Mack and Romanas Frderique Jr. turned heads as well.
Miami Norland, which has truly transformed their team, had Tyclean’s twin brother, Tycoolhill Luman, Monsignor Pace transfer Dimitry Nicolas and Miami Carol City under-the-radar nose tackle transfer Germaine Carter.

Back at the beginning of February, when the camp and combine season began, there was one event that simply stole the show for student/athletes in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.
Now that event moves north to West Palm Beach on Sunday, March 26 at Keiser University, and the exposure and coverage that was very much present at the first combine will follow this event as well.
The South Florida Combine Series presented by Bleechr will be held from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at Keiser University (2600 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33409).
Open to football prospects Classes 2023-2027, this event will not only get the younger prospects on the radar screen, but also assist the veteran players with additional exposure that so many are looking for.
“What this event is all about is to promote, teach and evaluate EVERY prospect that attends,” said former Miami Dolphin great receiver Chris Chambers. “We know exactly what it takes to provide exposure while teaching student/athletes and their parents some things that will go a long way in this competitive recruiting process.”
Along with Chambers, Lazaro Suarez (bleechr.com) and Larry Blustein (larryblustein.com), all facets of this event will be covered by people who know every part of recruiting – providing well over a half century of experience and valuable knowledge.
All athletes who attend will receive a compression shirt, professional head shot and action photos. In addition, the top five athletes in each position will be invited to the Bleechr College Recruiting Showcase at the end of the series in Miami.
Participants will receive exclusive action photos as well as videos of their performance, professional video interviews, a Bleechr college recruiting profile upgrade plus personal college recruitment assistance.
“With Chris and Larry, you have two of the most respected, recognized and trusted professionals in this competitive and often tricky world of recruiting,” Suarez said. “When we tell you that EVERYONE who attends will be promoted, we mean exactly that. We have so many avenues to get the word out – and for such a low price, it has to be a MUST on your off-season schedule.”

KISSIMMEE – As we head into the final day of the 2023 Florida High School Wrestling Championships at the Silver Spurs Arena, South Dade has simply left no doubt who the best team in Florida is.
The Bucs have an overwhelming 95 point lead on second place Southwest Miami and will send six wrestlers into the 4 p.m. finals.
Head Coach Vic Balmeceda and his team continued an over two decade dominance in the sport and have accomplished everything possible.
With only Brandon and its total five decade dominance of the sport ahead of South Dade’s legacy, this team has combined veterans and youth to put another stamp on this amazing program.
1A IS STILL A RACE
While the Bucs have relaxed since the first round, Class 1A has been a dogfight with three schools still very much in the race for a state title.
Head Coach Joe Blasucci and Pembroke Pines Somerset, who won two years ago, lead with 148 points, but last year’s state champions Jensen Beach (136) and upstart Naples First Baptist (123.5) still pose a threat.
Somerset has four in the finals – while Jensen Beach will feature three in the finals and First Baptist has five.
All Somerset has to do is win and everything will take care of itself.
2A is also an exciting two team race with defending state champion Lake Gibson and Punta Gorda Charlotte within striking distance with wrestlers still remaining.
GIRLS FEATURE A NUMBER OF LOCALS
As much of the attention was on what is going on with the boys, the girls also had a solid tournament as North Miami and South Dade had an outstanding showing.
The Pioneers have two in the finals – including unbeaten defending state champion Mya Bethel – while I-Cart Galumette (110 pounds - North Miami), Analy Banuelos 115 pounds – Miami Braddock), unbeaten Gabriela Caro (125 pounds – Parkland Douglas), Sofia Delgado (140 pounds – Miami Coral Park) and Yoseline Perez (235 pounds - South Dade) all making the finals as well.

KISSIMMEE - Before Thursday’s first round of the state wrestling championships at the Silver Spurs Arena, many joked that powerhouse South Dade would wrap up their 24th crown after the first day.
All jokes aside, head coach Vic Balmeceda and his Bucs may have done just that as they qualified all 14 wrestlers to the second day on Friday and made a strong statement toward an 11th straight 3A state title.
Sparked by unbeaten two-time state champion All-American 220-pound junior Sawyer Bartelt’s 46th straight win in the opening round, this team roared out to a 26-point lead over rival Southwest Miami at the second round starts at 9:15 on Friday.
The Bucs were indeed relentless, getting first round wins by Bryan Morales (55-13 – 106), Luis Acevedo (51-3 – 120), Nathaniel Williams (50-11, 126), Tyree Graham (47-12, 132), Elvis Solis (45-1, 138), Misha Arbos (44-8, 145), Gavin Balmeceda (57-5, 152), Cordell White (30-1, 160), Lawrence Rosario (54-9, 170), Chris Sanchez (43-9, 182), Ansel Cervantes (42-0, 195), Bartelt and heavyweight Marcelo Rosario (43-9) all had opening wins, fueling this team on the first day.
While South Dade raced out in 3A, they weren’t alone. Rival Southwest Miami and Weston Cypress Bay were among the top four.
THE RACE IN 1A IS REAL
They had knocked heads in the district tournament two weeks ago and last week in the regional tournament last week, and on Day 1 of the 1A state tournament, Pembroke Pines Somerset and Miami Mater Lakes were back at it again.
Head Coach Joe Blasucci and his Somerset team had a productive first day with 38 points just ahead of Mater Lakes (34.5), Jensen Beach (31.5), Naples First Baptist (28) and Cardinal Gibbons (27.5).
