It’s been a year since Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons beat Miami Gulliver Prep, 29-7, and went on to win the 4A state title.
While the Chiefs relished in the victory last November at FIU Stadium, the Raiders used that loss as motivation, and tonight (7:30) at Tropical Park in Miami, this matchup, over 12 months in the waiting, will be played with so much on the line.

Football, food and more football will be the order of the weekend – as memories will be made for many – win or lose. To have made it three rounds deep is indeed a “badge of honor” that has to be shared by all who play this great game.
While there were some surprises in Round 1 of the state football playoffs, what happened this past week – in Round 2 was indeed something that was sobering to many.
