Before many hosted camps, combines and 7-on-7 events, recruiting was done by going out and evaluating talent and sharing that information with college coaches nationally.

Because these events have been lost in the financial gain that has become Florida’s off-season, separating reality from the truth has been tough for athletes, coaches and parents.

Several companies come to the state of Florida – south Florida in particular - to take advantage with promises of scholarship offers and false promotion. Parents are NOT educated and they will spend money believing that everyone is looking out for their best interest.

Naming those companies and exposing these people who have no college contacts or ability to get athletes in front of decision makers would be too easy.

The one thing about these events is just look at who are hosting them and see if they appear at games or practices during the season. They don’t, and that is a problem.

On Sunday, February 5th, the return of the South Florida Combine Series presented by Bleechr will be held from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at Ives Park (20901 NE 16th Ave, Miami, FL 33179). 

Open to football prospects Classes 2023-2027, this event will not only get the younger prospects on the radar screen, but also assist the veteran players with additional exposure that so many are looking for.
