MIAMI GARDENS– After a national search led by Brentwood Partners, Florida Memorial University (FMU) is excited to announce the selection of Jason Horn as its new Director of Athletics.
Horn brings a wealth of experience in critical leadership roles in collegiate athletics. He will galvanize the athletic team around a renewed sense of purpose and mission while also serving as part of FMU’s leadership team and fostering greater student success with his motto, W.G.G. – Win, Grow and Graduate.

Horn's professional career spans nearly 30 years in athletics, marketing and promotions. His experiences include working with organizations such as the Detroit Pistons, the NBA Development League (now G-League), the University of Central Florida, the University of Miami, Conference USA, and the Olympic Winter and Summer Games.
Horn most recently served as the Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics & Recreation at Xavier University of Louisiana from 2014-2021.
He was named NAIA National Athletic Director of the Year in 2020 and the NACDA National Athletics Director the Year in 2021. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, and the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association. He is also a member and 3rd Vice President of the NAIA Athletic Directors' Association and serves on the NAIA National Administrative Council. He also served as Conference President of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.

Under Horn’s leadership, Xavier grew to be a model athletic program, being recognized across the country for its achievements on and off the playing fields.
During Horn’s tenure, Xavier tripled student-athlete and spirit squad enrollment and participation improved department grade-point average each year; expanded the University sports offerings; experienced athletics revenue growth; expanded the corporate partnership portfolio; increased alumni engagement; won the conference All-Sports trophy six of seven years; including three teams finishing ranked in the top 10 nationally (2019-20), and won nearly 40 conference championships.
