It has been a crazy off-season – with the pandemic still dictating what transpires on high school football fields across the country.
No matter what class they play in – or what college they have in mind, these athletes in south Florida continue to elevate their standing by competing pretty much year-round.
Having the pleasure of watching so many football prospects LIVE in game conditions, we have that opportunity to discover much more than the athletes that are hyped and pushed out by every recruiting service and fan website.
Anyone can watch a film and be an “expert”, but very few can make the effort to promote prospects nobody sees or talks about by watching them play.
TAYLOR PROFILE
PLAYER: Mason Taylor
POSITION: TE
SCHOOL: Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas
CLASS: 2022
HEIGHT: 6-4
WEIGHT: 225
SCOUTING: Having watched this impressive prospect from the beginning, there is no doubt that his growth as a tight end has come with plenty of hard work and dedication to the position and the sport.
The son of Defensive Coordinator and Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, this is one of those student/athletes that has good hands, quickness and is not afraid to throw his body in the mix on passing downs as a blocker – or help pave the way for the running game.
Came up with big catches when the Raiders needed it the most – as a big-time option for the receivers or the running game.
No matter what opponent this team played this past season, Taylor was a huge option for an offense that put up points on the way to another 7A state title win over Orlando Edgewater.
With several offers on the table, look for him to continue to get looks and offers – and elevate his craft. Solid football player who picks things up quickly.
In an area as talented as south Florida, it is no longer a surprise to find elite prospects who continue to emerge – and work hard to stay there.
