Who Are The Top Players & What Roles Will They Play During The Season?
NEXT UP: Dillard’s Devaughn Mortimer Is The Complete Package

As the pandemic has dictated what has transpired on high school football fields across the country, south Florida has more than done its part to make things safe and competitive for the athletes who have missed out on the exposure needed.

No matter what class they play in – or what college they have in mind, these athletes in south Florida continue to elevate their standing by competing pretty much year-round.

Having the pleasure of watching so many football prospects LIVE in game conditions, we have that opportunity to discover much more than the athletes that are hyped and pushed out by every recruiting service and fan website.

Anyone can watch a film and be an “expert”, but very few can make the effort to promote prospects nobody sees or talks about by watching them play.

PLAYER: Devaughn Mortimer

SCHOOL: Fort Lauderdale Dillard

CLASS: 2022

HEIGHT: 5-11

SCOUTING: For the past two years, when talking about the receiver position in south Florida, there were a number of names that were talked about – for different reasons.

In that conversation, the name Devaughn Mortimer came up – and while a major portion of south Florida had never watched him perform live – his reputation certainly was tough to ignore.

When those recruiting “experts” finally had the opportunity to watch him perform, there was never a doubt. Here is someone who not only could beat you with his blazing speed, but his athletic ability and skill level stood out as soon as you watched him.

At a time when competition is something that you experience throughout the year in this region of the country, his name quickly spread and colleges noticed something that those who have followed this impressive talent for years have known all along.

In addition to what this all-around student/athlete does on the football field, which has brought college coaches from throughout the country, his work in the classroom has been nothing less than superior. From a 3.0 GPA, this young man brought his grades all the way up to an amazing 4.0, raising the bar in the classroom – and that is what makes Mortimer the total package – as one of the elite prospects nationally!

For the past 51 years, we have spent time going from games to practices, camps, combines and 7-on-7 events. We will remain steadfast to promote all south Florida’s high school football prospects.
