Until Miami Ransom Everglades dropped a 35-13 decision to 1M Regional champion Miami Archbishop Carroll, very few football fans paid any attention.
This is a program that has been an afterthought for many through the years, and while swimming and soccer have taken center stage for as long as many can remember, football has slowly found its way into the picture.
Because of their 8-1 season last year, the Raiders started to receive some recognition. Add in some standout talent on both sides of the ball and om special teams and the perception and respect change – in a major way.
During a stretch in 2023, this team outscored the opposition, 323-89 with five shutouts.
As they headed into the off-season there was a sense that repeating what happened this past year.
With a new head coach moving in, this spring and summer would be more about getting to know Joe Supple – the football coach.
Supple is someone that has been a part of the Ransom Everglades landscape for many years, serving as girls’ basketball as well as a teacher and dean.
What Supple and his staff were out to do this spring and summer is bring together all the talent this program has.
