5 Class of 2023 South Florida Standouts To Keep An Eye On

By now, you get why south Florida has no rival when it comes to producing and developing football talent – at every level.

For all those who talk about what coaches are being paid in other areas of the country, the one thing that has always held true in south Florida is you will not find harder working coaches anywhere.

From youth football league right through high school, south Florida coaches develop and teach the sport to athletes who already have an edge over the competition.

As we have followed each and every class come out of this region of the state – and watched them all at practices, games, camps and combines, this has always been a region of the country where there’s a hunger to learn and compete.

No matter what class we are dealing with in south Florida, there are some amazing prospects – just waiting to do their thing.

Today, we bring you five Class of 2023 standouts from Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Many of them have already received attention from college coaches and recruiting services.

Ahmere Foster, FS, Miami Christopher Columbus. From his freshman year and a state championship to making a huge impact this past season for the 8A champions in the Tri-County Championships, here is someone who more than impressed. A gifted playmaker, who not only can cover in the secondary, but this is a physical talent that continues to grow and mature – and by the time the 2021 season rolls around – look for this playmaker to continue to be one of the best – not only in south Florida, but easily one of the elite prospects in the state.

Shelton Green, OL, Miami Gulliver Prep. From the beginning at St. Brendan’s to Homestead for a minute, and now heading to play for a very a talented Raiders’ team, here is a one of the premier big men in the region – in any class. Solid football talent who is big, strong and extremely athletic. Easily one of the top rising line prospects in the nation, and as he will have the chance to block and pass protect for some highly-recruited players, and in the process, will continue to get plenty of college attention.

Rico Jackson, OL, Fort Lauderdale Dillard. Having watched this quality talent since he started playing, it is certainly no surprise that he is receiving the attention this winter/spring. At 6-5.5 and over 300 pounds, here is a gifted young man with a big-time work ethic and plenty of ability. Watch him compete and you will see someone who plays this game with plenty of passion – and a will to work to get better. As the Panthers continue to improve and move into a brighter spotlight in the coming years. He is definitely getting plenty of attention from colleges and universities all over.

Kamari Moulton, RB, Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons. There’s no getting around that the Chiefs struck gold here with this impressive runner, who has already impacted the defending 4A state champions. At 5-11, 190, he is quick, elusive and powerful. His big runs this past season helped this program create balance on the offense. Also happens to hold down a 3.2 GPA in the classroom.

Javin Simpkins, RB, Miami Norland. Having watched this impressive runner four times this season alone, you can see why everyone loves what this quality football prospect brings to the table – as a player and as a teammate. Despite not being the biggest back around, his speed and overall athletic ability to make huge plays and keep his Vikings in every game. This past season, while establishing himself as a future talent, he turned several heads – locally and nationally by the things he does to help his team win football games. Will be a huge focus in the off-season – as colleges continue to find out about this impressive football player.
