Unbeaten Archbishop McCarthy, St. Brendan Kickoff Week 3

After two weeks of the 2024 high school football season, both the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks and the St. Brendan Sabres are unbeaten.

Tonight (7:00), the two schools, who are trying to take their game to the next level, will clash as the third week of the year begins at Archbishop McCarthy.

For both programs, the toughest part of their schedule is yet to come – with state and nationally rated teams ahead.

The Mavericks and head coach Dino Mangiero are members of Class 4A for the first time after several years as an independent.

For veteran head coach Steve Smith and his team, they are part of a competitive District 16-3A, which happens to have power Miami Northwestern, Miami Jackson and Key West. They are coming off a 7-4 season in 2023, losing to Miami Norland in the opening round of the 2M state playoffs.
