No. 4 Miami Norland vs. No. 3 Miami Northwestern, 7:30 (Traz Powell). The talking is over. Bragging rights will be at stake this evening when the unbeaten Miami Norland Vikings – defending state runner up – will take on a Miami Northwestern team that has hit the ground running under first year head coach Teddy Bridgewater.
While this is not a district game – with the Vikings being 4A and the Bulls in 3A with longtime rival Miami Central – the talk on the internet has set up this matchup as fans will pour in the “The Mecca” for a game that will certainly set the tone for local supremacy.
Bridgewater has given this program a major lift – with tremendous coaching and an offense that has averaged over 400 yards per game. The defense has also been stingy.
For veteran head coach Daryle Heidelburg and his Vikings, the sting of losing in the finals a year ago in Tallahassee has been a source of motivation, and so far this year, this team has met every regular season challenge.

Delray Beach Alantic (3-0) at No. 5 Pompano Beach Blanche Ely (3-0), 7. If it weren’t for the Northwestern-Norland game, this would be the Game of the Week – and it still may turn out that way.
To state-rated teams that are out to show that both can be a force throughout the season.
The Eagles and head coach Jamelle Murray were expected to be one of Florida’s top teams – while the Tigers and head coach Terence McFadden have been a true surprise.
Plenty of people will be watching their phones tonight keeping an eye on this game.
