Miramar, Miami Edison Get Things Going This Evening

It has been 241 days since the end of the 2022 high school football season – nearly nine months.

During that time, teams have gone through conditioning, spring, summer and countless camps and combines, getting ready for the 2023 season.

That all comes to an end this evening (7:00) when the Miramar Patriots and head coach A.J. Scott travel to the fabled Traz Powell Stadium to play Luther Campbell’s Miami Edison Red Raiders to get Kickoff Classic Week under way.

For the Patriots (10-2), last year saw the team win a district and advance three rounds in the state playoffs before losing to eventual 3M state runner up Homestead.

With several prospects returning, this is a program that worked hard in the off-season to get ready for a challenging 2023.

FRUSTRATING 2022 SEASON GIVES RED RAIDERS HOPE IN 2023

For Edison, tonight is the start of what this team hopes can land the program in the state playoffs.

With an infusion of talent and a year-round commitment to improving, things have a chance of turning around after a 5-5 campaign.
