Miami Northwestern Looks To Get Back To State Title Game In 2022

THE BULLS FILE

Head Coach: Max Edwards

2021 Record: 10-4

THE SCOOP

If you follow this football program you already know that the past two years were not easy times around Liberty City.

Losing to rival Miami Central was tough to take last season – and the Bulls did it twice. The second one was one of the worst setbacks (49-6) they suffered in a long time. But those two losses to the Rockets and the IMG defeat were not as tough as the game that kept this program from getting back to the state title game.

After reeling off playoff wins against Fort Myers (71-19), Naples (49-35) and Plantation (57-14), the matchup with Tampa Jesuit was one that they felt they could win – even though they were on the road against an unbeaten team that had already knocked St. Thomas Aquinas from the national picture.

The Bulls had been on such a roll, especially on offense, that they felt that the football they were playing was as good as anyone in 6A.

The 37-12 put a focus on 2022, and so far, the off-season has been all about rebuilding and getting this team ready for the upcoming season.

Here is a look at some of the players to keep an eye on this spring and summer:
