Miami Jackson Looks To Return To The ‘Glory’ Days

THE GENERALS FILE

Head Coach: John Harris

2021 Record: 2-8

THE SCOOP

For much of the past decade, Miami Jackson has watched football programs around them flourish – often times with players who belonged to the Generals.

Miami Edison, Miami Booker T. Washington, Miami Northwestern, Miami High and powerhouse Miami Central have done very well - while this once storied program has not advanced.

With veteran head coach John Harris, one of the best the school has ever produced, feeling his way back into the area landscape, this off-season has changed the course – with new coaches and prospects who could put this program back on the map.

Remember, Jackson has long been home to some quality football talent that runs deep – starting with the legendary Lee Corso and Joe Brodsky, but also Curry Burns, Elvis Dumervil, Lenny Harris, Elliott and Laverga Walker, Quinton Flowers, Cecile Johnson, David Little, Joe McCall, Fred Robinson, Mike Strachan and Harris among others.

This is a program that has tried a number of football coaches to turn things around, but what has gone on the past few months may see the interest shift back to Alapattah, and that has fans and alumni feeling pretty good.

Here is a look at some of the football talent that looks to change the fortune of this program:
