Doral Academy Ready To Contend Once Again

THE FIREBIRDS FILE

Doral Academy

Head Coach: Eddie Delgado

2021 Record: 8-2

THE SCOOP

Winning the first six games of the season in 2021, there was plenty of optimism around this campus – as winning football had returned to the City of Doral.

Even the “district title” game loss to Homestead helped this team focus on the future – with plenty of young talent.

As we head toward 2022, once again there is a feeling that this is a team more than capable of making a legitimate run at the state playoffs – like last season, losing to Miramar in the 7A state playoffs.

Even though the landscape has changed with several teams moving into different districts, there is enough talent on both sides of the ball – and in the special teams to turn plenty of heads.
