Dillard Building For Another Run

For as long as many can remember, Fort Lauderdale Dillard has been a force on the football field.

While there have been some down years, the Panthers have always managed to regroup with an enormous amount of talent that is available to them every year.

Because this is a community school having legacy athletes is not uncommon. For generations, this school has turned out student/athletes at a record pace.

Recently on the football field this program has been up and downs. Several coaches have been in place to raise the bar and put the Panthers back on track.

With the availability of having students in grades 6-12, this is a school that should been in the spotlight every year and in every sport.

With head coach Demetris Mincey in place for his second season, there is a feeling that the corner can be turned – especially with a productive off-season, spring and summer, that will attract nearly 100 football players.

If the Panthers are going to rebound from last season’s 5-6 record, it will begin with a loaded and experienced rising senior (2025) class.

Among those players include defensive prospects Datron Rhodes (DB, 6-0, 176), Jevari Jackson (LB, 5-10, 175), Percy Fredrick (LB/DE, 6-2, 200), Jeremiah Jean (LB, 6-0, 192), Tinsley Dely (DL, 5-11, 210), Javier Fraiser (DB, 5-9, 150), and linebacker/long snapper Tyler Ivey (6-0, 197).

The offense is also ready to take that next step with Hammond Richemond (RB, 5-9, 188 – 4.2 GPA), Kevin Small (RB, 5-5, 153), Jonathan Rance, Jr. (OL, 6-3, 224), Demetrius Lewis (WR, 6-0, 150), Bryant Allwood (WR, 5-10, 151), Nylan Maine (QB, 5-11, 230), Kareem Stewart (OL, 6-6, 295), Donnie Chestnut (WR, 5-7, 123), and Keanu Gray (OL, 5-9, 246) – as well as athlete Joshua Reaves (6-1, 165)

UNDERCLASS HOLDS THE KEY FOR THE FUTURE

If this team is to continue the climb beyond the 2024 season, look no further that the rising junior (2026) class where offensive players Keiondre Dunbar (OL, 5-8, 217 – 3.4 GPA), Cordell Coffey (WR, 5-5, 132), Pierce Kineh-Young (WR/TE, 6-3, 212), Jaylen St. Vil (OL, 6-3, 308 – 4.1 GPA), Isaiah Douglas (WR, 5-4, 130), and running back Anthony Carey, Jr. (5-7, 160) lead a deep group.

The offense also features Tyophi Clay (WR, 5-10, 140 – 3.5 GPA), Jaray Howard (OL, 5-10, 276), Christopher Tillman (RB, 5-10, 170), Morris Choice (RB, 5-9, 155), Logen Connor (OL, 6-2, 280), and receiver Jamarien Edgerton (6-0, 165).

Defensively, Zamari Marquez (DB, 5-8, 171 – 3.2 GPA), J.T. Turner (DL, 6-1, 320), Javon Walker (DE, 6-1, 198), Demitris Mincey, Jr. (SS/OLB, 6-1, 195 – 3.6 GPA), Dakyri Brown (DT, 5-10, 260), Jayden St. Vil (DL, 6-0, 237), Samuel Brown (CB, 5-10, 165), Amari Brutus (DB, 5-9, 160), Kennedy Davilmar (LB, 5-11, 185), Zarta Demery (DE, 5-11, 207 – 4.0 GPA), and defensive end Sidney Newkirt (DE, 5-10, 193).

There are also some others to keep an eye on – such as Christian Robinson (CB, 5-8, 140), Timothy Rusley, Jr. (CB, 5-9, 155), Quyis Daley (LB, 5-9, 195 – 3.0 GPA), Anaius Humphrey (DL, 6-5, 320), Jorel Martin (DB, 5-10, 143), and safety Devin Simmons (5-10, 160). Versatile athlete Rodriguez Thomas (5-8, 130) is also solid.

Tapping into the that younger group, keep an eye on Class of 2027 players Nathaniel Miller (OL, 6-4, 248), Kyle Brown (QB, 5-10, 150), Jeff Mozart (OL, 6-0, 273), Kyle Aller (PK, 5-7, 130 – 3.8 GPA), Tedric Oatman (DB, 5-10, 150) and athlete Anthony Jennings (Athlete, 5-11, 165)

The future continues with incoming Class of 2028 freshman Keyondre Thomas (Athlete, 6-0, 155) and 8th grade athlete (Class of 2029) Jeffrey O’Neal, Jr. (6-1, 175).
