When we attend games, practices, combines, camps and 7-on-7 events we watch every player who is competing live and in person.
Throughout the course of a year, our objective is to make sure that every athlete gets the opportunity to get promoted.
Remember, not every prospect is a Power 5 or Group of 5 type of athlete, and while the focus is usually on those star-rated athletes, we make sure that everyone gets into the spotlight.
While we make sure that we include every class and every position in our coverage, today we take a look at five players in the Class of 2025.
Johnny Arneus, WR, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas. Already armed with two of the best receivers in the state, the Raiders added this quality slot receiver from Pembroke Pines Somerset Academy, who has the chance to be one of the top prospects in the class. His speed, ability to get open, make catches and ignite an offense has him in a position to be one of the players that you will want to keep an eye on this coming season. He will indeed have many opportunities to help this offense move at a high level. His work ethic is also very impressive.

Ben Hanks Jr., CB, 6-1, 160, Miami Booker T. Washington. Following in the rather large footsteps of his father who starred at Miami High and the University of Florida, here is a quality football talent that is versatile and on a rise toward the top of his game. After starting out at Doral Academy, he made the move to play for head coach Tim “Ice” Harris and the Tornadoes and has been improving month by month. Has already thrust himself into the spotlight among Class of 2025 prospects statewide.

2025 – Matias Garcia, OL/DL, 6-3, 270, Fort Lauderdale Calvary Christian Academy. When we watching this quality talent play last season we left impressed by everything he brings to the table. This is someone who never stops. High motor and willing to learn on both sides of the ball. The first thing you notice about him is even against top-flight competition he never backs down. As offensive lineman, he ability to come out of his stance quickly and get to the point of attack is something that over the next two years you will see a lot of improvement. His knowledge of the offense is the reason he is so impressive on defense. Great anticipation and feel for the direction of the play. He has two full years left and that is going to make him technically better.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/16715596/Matias-Garcia
Ezekiel Marcelin, LB, 6-0, 190, Miami Central. A starter for a championship team as a freshman, impact prospect as a sophomore. What else can be said for a prospects who is on his way to becoming an elite national recruit. He gets to the play fast – no matter of it’s a run or a pass play. His quickness combined with amazing instincts puts this young man in a class by himself. Very gifted and a sure tackler who is not only a tremendous athlete, but equally as impressive as a student and an emerging role model.

Cortez Mills, WR, 6-1, 170, Homestead. Another impact football player we watched as a freshman and continued to see his growth this past season. Easily one of the elite receivers who is lethal on short passes – making something big out of practically nothing and his ability to stretch the field with long passes, giving the Broncos a deep threat and a quick score performer. Will continue to develop into a national recruit over the next year, keeping colleges and universities heading down to southern Miami-Dade County.

Look anywhere in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties and you will see talent at every position.
While some get more publicity than others, the one position that is always athletic, full of talent and being noticed is the defensive line.
Whether it be the interior prospects, ends or edge rushers, it seems like the talent that is produced in these two counties – on the defensive line – is something that college coaches have long paid plenty of attention to.
When you turn on the television on Saturday or even Sunday, you will find elite line prospects who started their careers here in south Florida. Football talent that has continued to grow and mature.
The growth of the defensive linemen has been amazing. Many point to the coaching and the switch of positions. Because many mature and grow during their junior and senior years, a change of position is often dictated, moving players from offense to defense, linebacker to edge or defensive end to the interior.
Ass we follow EVERY player in south Florida, we give the spotlight and recognition to each student/athlete who plays.
REMEMBER, this spotlight on the defensive linemen in the Class of 2024 is designed to promote and give college coaches an opportunity to see the talent. As usual, if there are ANY CHANGES that need to be made, please send it to us and we will get it done immediately. The objective is to get the information right so colleges have the latest on our talent when they recruit this region of the state.
Today, we check out some impressive and deep defensive linemen:
Among those rising seniors include Boca Raton transfer Gabriel Birnbaum (Coconut Creek Monarch), three-year varsity standout Justin Bodford (Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), University of Louisville commitment T.J. If you have followed us long enough, you already know that very few promote EVERY and Broward Counties – at ALL levels.
With that in mind, colleges coaches from Hawaii to Maine and every in between keep an eye on what we produce.
We have never been in this to sell subscriptions or spotlight star-rated athletes. This is ALL about getting prospect information out to colleges and universities at every level.
With that said – and you know what we do and why we are here 365 days a year going to events, practices, camps, combines, and games and NOT sitting behind a computer – we will spend this off-season getting everyone promoted.
For over a half century, we have been honored to help football prospects across the state of Florida get some well-deserved recognition.
We not only put these prospects on this website for all fans to see and follow, but all the information that is provided to us is passed on to the over 500 college coaches that are part of our recruiting coverage. Today’s EYE ON RECRUITING will be on Miami Felix Varela (Twitter: @FelixVarelaHS), guided by head coach Patrick Ledan, whose Vipers won their final game of the 2022 season – 14-6 over North Miami Mourning.

For every position that college coaches have long used south Florida for in the recruiting process, quarterback is one that has never pegged the national meter.
With so many former quarterbacks coming back to the area and starting clinics, combines and other showcase events, the position has grown and continues to get more attention from colleges nationally.
With two Pro Bowl QBs from Broward County this past season, this region of the state is now gaining momentum – with quarterbacks working on their craft year-round.
No matter what time of year it is, you will find rising quarterback prospects getting on the field and working with talented receivers while being taught so much about the position.
As the 2023 season approaches, several Class of 2024 signal callers are getting plenty of attention and showing their skills on 7-on-7 teams and during combines, thrusting themselves into the spotlight.
You can see the growth with the underclassmen who are making major strides and grabbing some of the spotlight of their own.
Today, we take a look at five Class of 2025 rising juniors who will be in that spotlight from the start of the spring, into the summer and during the regular season.
Check out these impressive prospects:
Jason Barket Jr, 6-0, 175, Miami Westminster Christian. This quality and versatile football talent is someone we talked about last year – and followed through a very productive sophomore season. His family bloodlines are athletic, and this impressive talent has the ability to be very special over the next two years. While he is a mobile athlete, he will stand in the pocket as well and gained confidence as he played more. Isn’t shy about taking off with the ball either.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/16079668/Jason-Barket-Jr
Devin Gonzalez, 6-0, 175, Weston Cypress Bay. After playing his freshman season at Flanagan, he made his move north this past season and showcased some impressive skills. Has a strong and accurate arm and is not afraid throw the ball in the middle of the field. Makes solid short passes and improved greatly on his intermediate and long balls. He is a pure passer who helps to open up the Lightning running game as well.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/16423482/Devin-Gonzalez
Camden Hartzell, 6-0, 180, Fort Lauderdale Calvary Christian. Making a move in the off-season from Pembroke Pines Somerset Academy, this is one of south Florida’s most underrated prospects. In addition to his work in the classroom (3.5 GPA), this rising junior finished with 2,455 passing yards and 30 touchdowns. Added three rushing scores as well. This is a talented young man who fits exactly what the Eagles do on offense.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/14811262/Camden-Hartzell
Andrew Indorf, 6-0, 180, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas. Heading into spring, this is one of the biggest mysteries for the three-time defending state champion Raiders. While he saw limited playing time a year ago, his off-season work ethic will certainly give him a major advantage as the battle for the starting position is on. Accurate, sees the field very well and understands what this offense is all about. He has a huge advantage of having a superior offensive line, amazing receivers and one of the best running games in the county – without question. Will be interesting to watch his progress.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/16347331/Andrew-Indorf
Ennio Yapoor, 6-1, 210, Miami Norland. From back in the 8th and 9th grades at Hialeah Champagnat Catholic to this past season as a huge offensive threat at Miami Norland, there may not be a better all-around quarterback in the state – and as he gets more exposure, he will show those who follow the positions nationally that he belongs in and conversation. Strong arm, athletic and versatile enough – pass and run – to have put up well over 3,000 yards and give the Vikings a reason to believe that they will be able to lineup against anyone in 2023. By the way, he gets it done in the classroom as his 3.8 GPA will certainly backup.

For decades, the one position that lacked in the south Florida was the offensive line.
Let’s face it, the position was not a glamour spot and very few prospects came out of the two counties and left a mark at the next level and beyond.
The thought of paying any off-season attention to linemen was indeed laughable at best. Very few camps or clinics had been devoted to the position, but that has all changed.
Starting with 7-on-7 events, the emphasis was finally put on the trenches and the “big men” started to find their way into the spotlight.
As the competition grew, more prospects started to get better and move on to the next level – and when their playing days were over – they started to host events that happened to be geared for the line prospects, much like the skilled positions which had been a signature of the talent in this region.
As we head to the 2023 season, there are several college coaches who found their way to this area and are recruiting our linemen, and for the first time, the spotlight is beginning to shine in this direction.
As we have already given you the list of the 2024, 2025 and 2026 linemen in this area, today, we bring you up close and personal with five Class of 2024 (rising senior) line prospects:
Raynor Andrews, 6-6, 315, Miami Norland. No matter how you slice it, here is one of the top line prospects not only in south Florida, but anywhere in the state. One of several new players the Vikings have coming into 2023 season, this is certainly one of the best. He is back, strong, athletic and has that mean streak that it takes to be successful at this and the next level. Comes over from Miami Jackson where we had the opportunity to watch him – and we came away impressed with the many things he does.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/18618318/63c436e0d21b0805f4ca49db
Zack Boehly, 6-5, 270, Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons. Yet another quality talent that we had the chance to watch live and in person, seeing him play against some top competition. This is one of the more technically sound prospects that they have here in this region. Very quick out of his stance and is equally as effective as a run blocker as he is proving time for the quarterback to throw the ball. Lot to like about this young man.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/16123517/Zack-Boehly
Lonnie Brady, 6-5, 255, Homestead. As a member of the state 3M runner up Broncos, he has certainly had the chance to showcase his many skills up from. Watching him perform in a number of games last season, this is a tall and active prospect who doesn’t stop until the end of the play. While he is often matched against defensive linemen who are a lot shorter, he adjusts during the course of a game to get his large frame into the opponent.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/18618318/63c436e0d21b0805f4ca49db
Keon Daceus, 6-1, 308, Coconut Creek. If those who rank football aren’t on this impressive talent, they are truly not doing their job. As many continue to promote several line prospects across the state, this is a name that is often left out, and that would be called NOT DOING YOUR HOME WORK. No matter who he faces off against, he becomes their nightmare for 48 minutes. He is strong, athletic and does not stop playing his position. Ask anyone the Cougars played against last season and all will tell you that No. 55 was a player to study all week. Keep an eye on him this year and you will see for yourself.
TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/16005379/619049105caa7a0a6c1342a2
Luke Moise, 6-3, 285, Miami Central. Talk about versatile. This is a player that coaches have been talking about for two years – and every time you watch him perform, you are quickly reminded how talented and versatile he is. Can truly play anywhere up from – and will once again be a leader for the national champions as they look to defend their title in 2023.
