When the season began and the experts who follow high school football looked at the top teams in Class 1A, the usual teams were at the top of the list.
National powerhouse Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna was talked about – for good reason. So were Miami True North Classical Academy and Miami Archbishop Carroll, who have been programs who have continued to gain momentum throughout recent seasons.
As those teams were talked about as possible playoff programs that may have the chance to close the gap with Chaminade, there was a team that was left out of that conversation. A school that had been in that conversation in the past.
In the first month of the season, while many schools have stepped up, one school has quietly made a huge impact, posting a 5-0 record and outscoring the opposition, 189-13.
For veteran head coach Patrick Wennin and his Warriors, this season has certainly unfolded as one that has directly put this program in the spotlight.

CLASS OF 2026
Austin De Moya, LB. Another of those experienced prospects that has led by example with 28 total tackles, six tackles for loss and 1 sack in five games.

Markus Ruiz, LB. Has recorded three interceptions (2 returned for touchdowns), 40 Total Tackles, 6 tackles for loss and 1 Sack.

Daniel “Dodo” Fernandez, OLB, 6’2, 208 – 5.16 GPA. 31 Total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 6 Sacks, 2 forced fumbles.

Landyn Munz, LB. One of those senior leaders already has 26 total tackles and five tackles for loss.

CLASS OF 2027
Canyon Henry, TE/DE, 6’2, 205 – 4.84 GPA. Baseball. A huge two-way catalyst that has 13 catches, 160 yards receiving, 3 receiving touchdowns. On defense, he has 13 total tackles, 5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks.

Gabe Hernandez, WR. Another of the younger players who have stepped up on offense and special teams with seven catches, 119 yards and two receiving touchdowns. Has also returned a punt for a score.
Cooper Hixon, LT, 6’5, 305 – 4.27 GPA. This anchor of the line already has compiled 8 pancake blocks as well as showcasing impressive skills.

Denim McCown, RG/DT – 3.3 GPA. With seven tackles and one tackle for loss, his contributions after five games have been huge.

CLASS OF 2028
Britton Bayag, Athlete, 5’9, 165 – 4.3 GPA. Easily one of the top underclassmen in south Florida who has 21 Catches, 370 receiving yards, 6 receiving touchdowns. He also has 105 Return Yards, and on defense - 9 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 interception and 2 passes deflected.

Jeremy Campbell, DB, 5’10, 150 – 3.5 GPA. His six total tackles, 1 interception for a TD, 1 fumble recovery for a score and six pass deflections have been huge.

Jonathan Clauvil, WR/DB, 6’2, 180. Elite young two-way performer that has 8 catches for 130 yards on offense – and four pass deflections on the defensive side of the ball.

Anthony Vera, QB. In five games, he has completed 54 of 83 passes for 894 yards passing, 13 Passing touchdowns - 24 carries, 203 yards rushing, 5 rushing scores.

Dominic Brown, DE/OG. When you get production from freshmen, it is indeed a huge boost to any team. His 10 total tackles, 4 tackles for loss have been huge for this program.
Andres Gonzalez, RB. Lacrosse. This freshman has already turned heads with 32 carries, 210 yards rushing, 2 rushing touchdowns. He has added 4 catches, 48 yards receiving.
