When the 5A state championships were held last December in Tallahassee, one very familiar face was missing.
Having been a three-time defending state champion, many felt that the Bulls and head coach Max Edwards would make it a fourth consecutive trip to state – and of course – another win.
Losing 12-3 in the second round of the state playoffs to eventual state champion, Plantation American Heritage, this program would finish 3-2.
Never once blaming the 2020 season on a pandemic that turned the world upside down, it was a given that of this program was going to make a return to the state championship game, things would have to fall into place.
When the classification was announced, the Bulls found themselves moving up to 6A – away from American Heritage and longtime rival Miami Central, who are 5A.
With spring bringing this program back together, there is a feeling that this program is ready to finish the business that was ended in Plantation last November.
If this team is going to make noise in 2021, it will start with the Class of 2022.

UNDERCLASS IS LOADED WITH TALENT
As every Northwestern team is, the 2021 version will also be loaded with young prospects, who are already making a major difference.
