South Florida Senior OL Still Auditioning In The Summer
As we have gone over in the past few months, this pandemic really put the crunch on the Class of 2022.
Any way you slice it – this upcoming senior class has been shortchanged in this recruiting cycle, and while they had 26 days to make up for 450, which was roughly the time that went between college coaches watching and evaluating a class that was ready to jump on the radar.
This 2022 class of seniors will be squarely in the spotlight for months to come – even some quality that are waiting for the perfect opportunity.
While you are waiting for that “perfect” opportunity, the name of the game is exposure, and while it’s fun to do well in 7-on-7 games and at testing events, they want to know that you will get it done when you are called upon.
As we take a look at Miami-Dade and Broward County prospects, today we stop in on the offensive line. There are some impressive football talent that have already shown what they can do – and others are still proving themselves.
Here are some who have already jumped on the radar screen.
Leading the way in this group is St. Thomas Aquinas tackle Julian Armella. The 6-6, 300-pound standout tackle has been on the radar screen for five years – as a youth phenom as well.
Following in the rather large steps of his father, who also starred in high school (Miami Springs) and at FSU, here is someone who has grown and matured over the past 12 months, and that is why he is considered one of the most sought-after offensive linemen in America.
As impressive as the St. Thomas Aquinas product is, he is not alone with several area linemen getting plenty of attention.
Among those who everyone will be watching include : Patrick Atkins (Miami Gulliver Prep - G), Jackson Baird (Fort Lauderdale Calvary Christian - T), John Bock (Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons - G), Jeffrey Bonica (Miami Edison - T), Brandon Brana (Miami Christopher Columbus - C), Miguel Cedeno (Plantation American Heritage - T), David Connor (Deerfield Beach), Jackson Crozier (Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons - T) and TRU Prep Academy transfer David Espino Jr., who is now at Davie Western.
The Class of 2022 also boasts highly-recruited talent such as Jacorie Foster (Plantation American Heritage - T), Aaron Hicks (Deerfield Beach - G), Northwestern transfer Tellek Lockette (Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas - G/C), Elijah Miller (Miami Central - C/G), fast-rising James Poulos (Fort Lauderdale Calvary Chjristian - G/C), rising star Mazio Randall (Miami International Academy), Daughtry Richardson (Miami Central - T), versatile Adrian Sans (Southwest Miami - G/T), Jason Seraphin, a three-year starter on both sides of the ball, is from North Miami Beach, and Plantation standout Shomari Seymour should be a force this coming season.
