As the Class of 2023 gets ready to step into the spotlight – as the rising senior class – there is another group of talented players waiting in the wings.
Every year, the question comes up from fans about the next class up, or the one after that. South Florida will never deliver an inferior group of football talent, and you can guarantee that.
While some classes are deeper and more talented, like this upcoming 2023 class, this next group up – the Class of 2024 (rising juniors) will showcase some of the best talent around.
This impressive class starts with Chaminade-Madonna’s extremely gifted and athletic Zaquan Patterson, a 6-0, 175-pounder who can play anywhere on the field – and is impressive at each and every position. He helped the Lions to a tremendous season, ending in a 3A state title.
Miami Christopher Columbus linebacker T.J. Capers is a prospect we first watched at the end of his freshman season, and the 6-3, 210-pounder continues to get better and better. He is going to be very special.
South Florida’s 2024 class also features Miami Killian edge rusher Dylan Stephenson (6-4, 215), who enjoyed a tremendous season for the Cougars.
Chaminade-Madonna receiver Jeremiah Smith (6-2, 185) and Miami Central receiver Joshisa Trader (6-1, 170) are as good as you will find at this level. Both are going to be heavily recruited the next two years because they are both elite.
Speaking of elite receivers, St. Thomas Aquinas has some James Madison II (6-3, 170) is yet another big-time talent, who will also be heavily recruited. He is a former youth football and University School prospect.
Chaminade quarterback Cedrick Bailey (6-6, 180), running back Davion Gause (5-11, 210) and linebacker Denzel Johnson (5-11, 200) are also Lions who will impact this program for years to come.
Dillard’s Antoine Jackson has been on the radar for over a year now – and when you watch this amazing 6-0, 170-pound corner perform, you can tell right away how special he is.
Quarterback Adrian Posse just made the move from Monsignor Pace to Miami Christopher Columbus as someone who can help the Explorers get back in the mix. The 6-4, 205-pounder has everything you are looking for.
St. Thomas Aquinas receiver Earl Kulp is someone who is also on the rise. The 6-2, 175-pounder is ready to help keep the Raiders at the top. His teammate Chance Robinson (6-1, 180) is a receiver who went through a learning season in 2021, which will add up over the two years.
