Norland, Coconut Creek End Spring Tonight

In 2023, Miami Norland reached the 2M state title game, losing to Tampa Berkeley Prep. At the same time, Coconut Creek had one of its best seasons in recent history, losing in the third round of the 3M state playoffs.

Tonight, both programs will bring the spring to an end – and start the climb back to take care of unfinished business.

While the classes have changed, Viking’s head coach Daryle Heidelberg and Cougars’ head coach Johnnie Sloan have once again set the table with returning players and several transfers who have infused both rosters.

COCONUT CREEK

With 6-2, 275-pound Nimari Brantley holding things down, the class was ready to take the responsibility of keeping this program moving forward.

In addition to Brantley, the 2025 class also included Samuel Alexis Bonilla (OG), Jahar Brown (WR), Elijah Calixte (OLB), Ivan Delien (CB), Jermaine Gordon (RB), Akemi Rainford (DE), Keon Roy (SS), Jaydon Rucker (OG), Jaheim Taylor (WR), and cornerback Tyler Williams.

With the future depending on what the underclassmen can bring to the table, the Class of 2026 (rising juniors) were also ready to step up to the plate as well – with Khameron Baker (LB), Santonio Banton (DE), Mekhi Headley-Fain (OG), Jacari Johnson (OT), Sebastien Midi (DB), Zanii Miller (SS), Andrew Stickney (QB), and running back Jordan Thompson.

MIAMI NORLAND

The Vikings, like the Cougars, have plenty of talent and will also rely on several transfers.

Among those rising seniors (2025) include Darryll Desir (DE/OLB, 6-4, 225), Mandrell Desir (WR/TE, 6-4, 248), Jean Devalus (OL, 5-10, 235), Adrian Farrow (DE, 6-4, 250), Jaheim Hines (DB, 5-11, 165), Tanary Moore (DE, 6-2, 210), Nathaniel Morin (OL, 6-1, 270), Ja’montay Parks (WR/CB, 5-11, 180), Isaiah Rock (CB  5-11, 160), Jahmari “Smitty” Smith (WR), Isaiah Wright (OL, 6-2, 260), and highly recruited, record-setting quarterback Ennio Yapoor (6-1, 215).

Among the 2026 rising juniors to keep an eye on include Andrew Brown (FS, 6-1, 165), Demonte Oliver (DE, 6-3, 186), Percy Santos (DB, 5-11, 150), and Khyze Smith (OL/DL, 6-3, 295). Class of 2027 rising sophomores Kenton Dopson III (Athlete, 6-0, 180) and Kai Moore (QB, 6-0, 180) are elite.
