The past two years, Homestead High School has thrust itself into the football spotlight throughout Florida.
While it may have been new to see this program on elite landscape, it is actually nothing new to the fans who have supported this team and its players since the doors were opened over 40 years ago.
While they have come up short the past two years in the state title game to national powerhouse Fort Lauderdale, the fans and alumni have never stopped supporting this school.
Having more than their share of elite football talent through the years, this has long been a program that has managed to remain in the spotlight.
In a recent intrasquad scrimmage at Naranja Park, it was indeed all about community – and with alumni, parents and fans coming out to watch the 2024 teams go through spring workouts, the players and coaches could not be more thankful for the support.
At the conclusion of the two-plus hour scrimmage, head coach Ronnie Thornton Jr. made sure that every player went around to everyone who came out to thank them for spending their morning watching and appreciating the hard work the Broncos have put in.
As they went into spring, there is very little drop off in talent, and it showed. The rising senior (2025) class will be at the center of the team’s success.
