If you follow high school football in south Florida, you already know about Fort Lauderdale High and head coach Richard Dunbar.

At the helm of his alma mater over the past 16 years, it has always been about developing student/athletes – on and off the playing field.

His experience as a football coach has gone a long way in getting his players to the next level at various colleges and universities.

While his Flying Ls have won during his time at the school, they have also developed positive work in the classroom, setting themselves up for a future away from the football field.

Coming off a 4-5 season in a competitive District 13-6A with Coconut Creek Monarch and Sunrise Piper, this team finished the season 3-1 and headed into the off-season with a good feeling.

In this off-season, a number of players have competed on 7-on-7 events and also played other sports which has kept them sharp for spring over the next few weeks.

If this team is going to be successful in 2025, it will be a strong rising senior (2026) class also with some younger players that are ready to contribute:
