For the first time in several years, North Miami failed to make the playoffs, and while head coach Gerald Cox and his Pioneers finished 4-6, things could have gone much differently.
Starting out 1-4 was tough to overcome, but those four setbacks could have gone the other way and this team had the chance of not only winning the district, but perhaps winning their first state playoff game in several decades.
Despite an 11-point setback to Miami Gulliver Prep, they lost by three in triple overtime on the road at Lakeland Lake Gibson and by two at Miami Edison.
As they ended the year with two convincing wins, this team headed into the off-season believing that 2024 would be much different – with several key returners coming back.
The rising senior (2025) class has several talented football prospects who are ready to take charge and get this program back on track.
