Area Linemen Take Center Stage At Rivals Camp Series

If you follow high school football in south Florida, you already know that when it comes to running backs, receivers, defensive backs and linebackers, this area has the market cornered on skill players.

The one area that has always been behind the rest of the country is the offensive and defensive line. While there have been several impressive prospects on both sides of the ball, there has always been a problem with quality depth. But that is changing.

Nowhere was it more evident than last weekend’s Rivals.com Camp Series at Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas.

While many of the quarterbacks, running backs and several other positions were jumping into the spotlight, Miami-Dade and Broward County line prospects more than held their own during drills and competition.

OFFENSIVE LINEMEN ARE STARTING TO TURN HEADS

Over the past few years, colleges and universities have flocked to this area and have come away with impressive big men.

Thanks in part to so many events devoted to developing offensive linemen, athletes get interested earlier and are learning more than ever.

Among the 2025 (rising seniors on hand included Bryan Auguste (OT, Coconut Creek Monarch), recent Miami Central offensive tackle transfer Woody Celucien, Daniel Davis (OG, Davie Western), and quality guard Dayen Marouf-Araibi (Plantation American Heritage).

UNDERCLASSMEN ARE READY FOR THE SPOTLIGHT

As the 2025 rising seniors have already showcased their many talents, 2026 rising junior prospect like recent transfer Ben Gula (OT, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna) has a chance to be special. So do Class of 2027 rising sophomores Jayden Dean (OC, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), Giovanni Garner II (OG, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), Aiden Hartnett (OG, Plantation American Heritage), and guard Ronald Riley (Miami True North Classical Academy), who has been attending just about everything in the off-season.

DEFENSIVE LINE ONCE AGAIN MAKES A STATEMENT

As the offensive linemen are still breaking out with talent, the defensive line has been stacked with quality for a number of years.

Defensive ends, edge rushers and interior linemen continue to make their way from the #305 and #954 to the next level and beyond.

At the Rivals.com event, rising seniors (2025) such as gifted Randy Adirika (DT, Miami Central), Omarian Abraham (DT, Plantation American Heritage), nationally-recruited Floyd Dawens Boucard (DT, Miami Central), Nimari Brantley (DT, Coconut Creek), Darryll Desir (DE, Miami Norland), Mandrell Desir (DE, Miami Norland), Notre Dame commit Davion Dixon (DT, Miami Palmetto), Adrian Farrow (DT, Miami Norland), Brandon Joseph Jr. (DT. Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), and Miami Northwestern defensive end Lewon Lurry Jr.

The deep class also features Tanary Moore (DE, Miami Norland), Alejandro Schmitt (OT, Pembroke Pines West Broward), fast rising Donta Simpson Jr. (DT, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna), Anthony Smith (DT, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna), Wilnerson Telemaque (DE, Miami Gardens Monsignor Pace), and versatile Alex Yearwood (Miami Norland).

THERE ARE SOME QUALITY UNDERCLASSMEN ON THE WAY

In addition to a huge group of rising seniors who turned heads last Sunday, the next wave of talent is also impressive as well.

Class of 2026 rising juniors like Jordan Davis (DT, Miramar), versatile and athletic Ryan Miret (DT, Miami Southridge), Khyze Smith (DT, Miami Norland), and defensive end Rodarion Tellez (Plantation American Heritage) will be counted on. So will rising St. Thomas Aquinas sophomores (2027) Joey Bollo (DE, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas Trevoris Finley (DE, Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas)
