Who Are The Top Players & What Roles Will They Play During The Season?
University School RB/Slot/KR Deion Small Is Way Under The Radar For The Sharks

By now, we all understand the landscape of high school football in south Florida. It’s truly like no other area on earth.

The talent that flows from high school to college and then on to the NFL is amazing, and is starting to spread throughout the country – as more and more prospects are finding their way into the spotlight.

No matter where you go in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties, there are an amazing array of receivers. Prospects who stretch the field and those who will hurt you underneath coverages. The speed is often the common denominator that separates the good from the great.

Because of the amazing competition that goes on 365 days a year, the end result is the football prospects continue to rise to another level – and often – beyond.

Better coaching, outstanding competition and a hunger to succeed are what drives the athletes of today. Many of these young men know that they have to be sharp and stay on top of their game at every turn.

PLAYER: Deion Small

SCHOOL: Davie University School

CLASS: 2021

SCOUTING: What you have in this young man is someone who is truly overlooked – and that is certainly something that will change.

Here is a pure offensive weapon, who also brings other positions – such as running back, slot and kick returner – to the table.

A natural pass catcher with breakaway speed, this is certainly a very hard worker who breaks tackles and gets upfield as well as anyone.

A smart prospects who plays this game with a lot of passion, as his head coach Daniel Luque and his staff will be quick to tell you. He competes with a lot of heart and has shown plenty of leadership.

In 2019, this quality talent had 984 yards receiving, 387 more on the ground and scored 11 times, earning Co-Offensive Player of the Year.

His work in the classroom has not gone unnoticed. Coming up with a 3.3 GPA as a junior, Small is truly a recruit that college coaches will see when play begins in the fall.

For the past 50 years, we have spent more time on football fields than anyone in the country. From games to practices, camps, combines and 7-on-7 events, nobody has evaluated more football talent than we have – and as we are in the midst of a pandemic like no other time before – we will remain steadfast to promote all south Florida’s high school football prospects.
