The one thing about south Florida athletes is they are always trying to prove themselves against some of the best competition you will find anywhere in the country.
Because there are so many gifted football prospects, you kind of know exactly where you stand – and what you have to work on to get better.
From camps and combines to 7-on-7 events, football prospects always have the chance to compete against the best – and while many areas of the country will claim to be the best when it comes to football teams – there is no getting around the fact that south Florida is home to the best prospects – by far.
Talk to the over 100 players on NFL rosters this past season from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach and all will tell you that the reason many of them are at that level is the talent they have to compete against from the youth level.
MCFADDEN PROFILE
PLAYER: Antonio McFadden Jr.
POSITION: DB
SCHOOL: Miami High
CLASS: 2021
HEIGHT: 5-10
WEIGHT: 175
SCOUTING: If you watched this program play a year ago, you already know that head coach Corey Smith and his staff elevated the Stingarees to a playoff team much because of the work that was put in throughout the off season.
A prospect like McFadden improved by going head-to-head with top talent on his own team, and as the season progressed, you could see this tremendous football player improve.
As college coaches are not getting the chance to watch his progress this off season, when play begins here in 2020, they will see an impressive and versatile athlete who will showcase skills as a cornerback and safety.
The one thing that this pandemic has done for all football prospects across the country is put the future in their own hands – often working out by themselves and using themselves as motivation.
Here is someone we spotlight in the 2019 season, but with maturity and natural progression, he has certainly enhanced his game and ability to become a college football prospect.
