When it comes to promoting and exposing talent in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties year-round, we have been fortunate to be on top of it for parts of six decades.
As the summer gets started, there are many quality football prospects who have continued to make some major strides – and we have been there at camps, combines, 7-on-7 events and for a full month during the spring.
While we have covered the entire state of Florida – checking out every corner since 1970, south Florida has always uncovered some amazing talent that has gotten it done at this level – and way beyond.
Over the next few months, leading up to the 2026 season, we will bring you some prospects to keep an eye on. Not from just watching video from behind a computer but putting in the work in the head and humidity to fully shine a spotlight on this impressive talent.
Today, we bring you five prospects from Miami-Dade and Broward:
2029 – Jamar Brinson Jr., CB, 6’2, 167, Miami Carol City – 3.8 GPA. After watching this impressive talent a year ago at Fort Lauderdale Dillard, there was no doubt that this is a quality player who will continue to mature and improve. Just in the past few months, since making the move south, he has grown and is getting plenty of exposure this spring and into the summer. He is an aggressive cover-corner with tremendous ball skills and as the ability to do many things on the field. Is also a special punt returner with speed and athleticism.

2028 – Desmond Christian, WR, 5’11, 165, Weston Cypress Bay. From the first time we watched “Hollywood” play during his freshman season at Plantation to this spring and summer as he made the move to play for the Lightning, this is indeed a solid talent that does a lot very well. The dangerous wide receiver knows how to get open with his speed by simply running by defenders or using his quickness to find soft spots in zone coverage. Watch him during the course of a game and you will see all the things he does to elevate his overall play. Has already shown this off-season that he will be one of the juniors to keep an eye on – everywhere he goes!

2027 – Davon Dericho, CB, 5’10, 175, Miami Killian. Here is a versatile talent that has committed to the University of Colorado, but if you’ve had the chance to watch him perform you will understand why he still remains a huge recruit that colleges are watching. Whether it’s as a corner – with great ball skills and the ability to read play – or as a safety, where he combines the best of both worlds – this is someone who is only getting better. His speed (4.4) is also a major asset to what he brings to the table as a football player.

2027 – Jamison Larsen, QB, 6’3, 230, Miami Palmetto. Whenever football talent comes to south Florida from just about anywhere in the country, many who follow and evaluate the game always ask the question is can the athlete make the adjustment? Can they translate their game to the unmatched speed and physicality that is Florida football? Lasy year, as a junior at Waukesha West High School in Wisconsin, this impressive athlete completed 57 percent (101 of 175)) passes for 1,257 yards and 13 touchdowns. He added 251 yards and seven scores on the ground. The ability to be able to use his large frame and athleticism has already helped him in his transition this spring and summer. This is definitely a talent that will make this program one to keep an eye on again in 2026.

2029 – Victor Latimore, LB, 6’1, 190, Hialeah Gardens Mater Academy. When all the prospects for this class are watched and evaluated by those who actually see the talent live and add in things that do not show up on computers at home, this is definitely someone who will find himself among the top 10 players in a loaded 2029 group. This is a throwback talent that plays the game at a high level – and from the first time he stepped foot on a varsity field – he belonged. Quick, strong, athletic and has the ability to make plays all over the field. In a football world where we are seeing more hybrids at this position, this gifted playmaker is looking to add to his 85-tackle, nine-sack performance from his freshman season. Is already one of the premier players in the state. Now the rest of the country, who has watched him on film, will see up close and personal what he brings to the table.

2027 – Izaiah Lopez, Athlete, 6’0, 195, Pembroke Pines West Broward. As this program left the field at Pitbull Stadium on the campus of Florida International University last December after dropping a decisive state title game against West Boca Raton, head coach Brian McCartney knew that the roster that departed the field that day would never be the same. But he also realized that prospects – like this young man – would be back and showcase talents on both sides of the ball, as a runner and as someone who roamed the secondary. This off-season has shown that this quality talent is indeed the real deal. He is someone that you build football teams around, and as the summer is now in full swing, he will showcase his skills at camps and other events that colleges and universities will continue to find out just how valuable he is. One of the many south Florida prospects that you will want to watch and see how he continues to mature and get better.
