Three Years In, St. Brendan Producing Top-Fight Prospects

There are a number of schools in south Florida who are looking to build their football programs to a level where they can compete with anyone.

Three years in and head coach Luis Rodriguez and his Sabres of Miami St. Brendan have truly turned heads with young prospects that has given this program an identity.

With solid and veteran coaching in a tremendous learning environment, parents are now gravitating toward this school that ironically sits right next door to longtime 8A powerhouse Christopher Columbus.

As Rodriguez continues to stay locked into the community and the youth football programs in southwest Miami, this is a team that has a chance to be special, winning 18 games the past two seasons – with a solid mix of talented football prospects.

As many schools are looking to stock their rosters for the 2021 season, the Sabres are searching to enhance what they have.

While there are some quality student/athletes on the roster, six underclassmen have been able to perform at a high level – and in the process – attract some more student/athletes to continue to give this program a lift as they head into district play this coming season.

2024 - Isaac Brown, RB/OLB. Here is one of the next stars of south Florida and Florida football. A running back who is indeed versatile and talented. Someone who will emerge as one Florida’s best over the next few years.

In addition to what he does on offense, he is also a standout linebacker and special teams performer.

2023 - Michael Caldwell Jr., RB. After watching this impressive running back who can do it all. This season, here is yet another elite difference maker who has been able to give the Sabres a versatile performer who is ready to perform – every week.

Speed, running style and the ability to make big plays has college coaches watching his every move. Is expected to have a banner off-season with this program.

2023 - Damari Charlton, QB. One of the up-and coming quarterback prospects who is coming off a huge season for this team. Even though he is young, this is a gifted football prospect who continues to learn and pick-up valuable things that have helped him along the way.

2023 - Richard Dandridge, WR/FS. Talk to anyone who has watched this impressive football player perform over the past two years, and all will tell you the same.

Here is easily one of the state’s top receivers for the class – and this off-season will only watch him get better – as college coaches are already showing so much love for a big-time student/athlete.

2023 - Christian Lowry, S/LB/DB/WR. Because we have the opportunity to see so many players and teams LIVE – and watch every prospect year-round, it’s athletes like this who just jump out at you – no matter where they line up.

Remember, here is a gifted football player who can play six different positions – and play them all very well.

No doubt that here is a game-changer who will only mature and get better in the years to come.

2023 - Nicholas Urbina, OLB. Here is one of the players on this team that is truly as passionate as you get as a football player. A very hard worker, who may not get the publicity that some of the other underclassmen, but trust that he will always be around the ball and making plays.

Someone who loves to play the game – and will be a huge catalyst moving forward.
