Five Top 20 Teams In Action Today Across South Florida

Hard to believe that we are in the final week of the regular season.

When play starts today, we are down to just two days left for those programs who didn’t advance to the state playoffs next week.

Today, the day before Halloween, several programs will be in action – and in Miami-Dade and Broward, we have eight teams that are rated in the Top 20 and headed to the playoffs – in action.

Here is a look at the teams who will be playing today:

 

Miami Carol City vs. No. 4 Miami Central (7-1), Traz Powell, 7. Both teams are headed to the post season =- with the Chiefs (2A) and the Rockets (3A) finishing the regular season off.

No. 6 Fort Lauderdale Dillard at Deerfield Beach, 7. The Panthers look to finish off a perfect regular season as they get set for the state playoffs.

No. 9 Miami True North Classical Academy (6-2) at Miami Westminster Christian, 4. Two more Class 1A programs ending the regular season with a district game.

Fort Myers Bishop Verot vs. No. 10 Miami Palmetto (7-2), Tropical Park, 7. The Panthers will be a No. 1 seed in 7A when the post season gets started.

No. 12 Miami Immaculata La Salle (9-0) vs. Miami Dr. Krop (2-7), Ives Park, 7. The Royal Lions are coming off a huge win last week and look to finish the regular season unbeaten as they will head into the 2A state playoffs as one of the top seeds. 

Pompano Beach Blanche Ely (3-6) vs. No. 15 Coconut Creek Monarch (5-4), Coconut Creek, 7. While it was a very tough season for the Tigers, the Knights have certainly been tested and are looking forward to the state playoffs.

No. 19 Plantation at South Plantation, 7. The Colonels are looking to get back on the winning track and prepare for the state playoffs.

Miami Belen Jesuit (3-6) vs. No. 20 Miami Killian (6-2), Southridge) 7. What an amazing season it has been for the Cougars in 2A as they hit the post season on a hot streak.
