Coral Reef Retools For A Third Straight Title

Moments after capturing their second consecutive Greater Miami Athletic Conference Independent title back in November, Miami Coral Reef head coach Tim Wood, his assistant coaches and returning players quickly turned their attention to 2026.

The convincing 26-8 win over Hialeah Gardens capped off a 9-2 season where this team did what they had to in gaining a title for the second year in a row.

While prospects throughout south Florida seem to change addresses every off-season, the Barracudas bank on the fact that the student/athletes they have are different. Many are there for the impressive academic Magnet Program the school has, and with the success of the football program, it has been a huge plus.

With camps, combines, 7-on-7 events on the horizon along with spring and summer, this team is setting the table for the 2026 season and a run at a third consecutive title.

WHAT WILL 2026 LOOK LIKE?

With student/athletes graduating and coming and going, here is a look at some of the prospects who are expected to help play a key role.

Among the 2027 rising seniors include Drew Wolf-Bravo (CB), Lawrence Bryant (CB), Raphael Chang (CB), Roberto Chavarry (OL), Michael Dupree (OLB), Michael Flores (FB), Khallel Germain (CB), Gabriel Hernandez (FB), Simeon Jackson (DT), Micah LeAndre (OLB) and offensive lineman Gabriel Paez all have experience.

So do Javier Peralta (LB), Christian Pierre (WR), Rayann Quedraogo (OL), Ethan Quiroz (K/P), Sebastian Reglado (RB), Alvaro Reyes (Slot), Matthias Sobalvarro (OL) and offensive lineman Michael Valdes.

The rising junior class (2028) could also be impressive – with last year’s MVP Amari Germain (Athlete) leading the way. In addition, there are also Sebastian Benedetti (LB), Julian Flores (K/P), Derek Narvaez (DE), Ahmari Paul (OLB), Christian Sanchez (OL) and offensive lineman Rodrigo Travieso.
