While south Florida has never really been a place where quarterbacks would line up for national recognition, but things have changed.
With more instruction and national attention, the quarterbacks in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties continue to get some looks – and for several who learned and played in the #305 and #954 – things are beginning to pay off.
More and more attention has been paid to the quarterbacks in this region – with Power 5 schools coming in all the time, along with several FBS conferences, who have found that the signal callers produced in this region are a lot more than athletes playing the position.
No matter where you look these days, you are going to find camps and other events geared toward spotlighting and teach future quarterbacks.
Today – as we continue to shine that spotlight on the Class of 2022 (seniors), we bring you a very impressive group of quarterbacks.
As quarterbacks such as Fernando Mendoza (Miami Christopher Columbus), Kevin Smith (Miami Palmetto) and Zion Turner (Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas) continue to get plenty of high-level collegiate attention, and for good reason, it has opened the door for other area prospects to jump on the radar.
Players like Khalil Anglin (Miami Killian), Tulane University commitment Carson Haggard (Miami Gulliver Prep), battle-tested Scott Kean (Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), experienced Brady Kelly (Fort Lauderdale Calvary Christian), rising standout Dylan Knaebel, Coral Springs Coral Glades), ultra-gifted and versatile Bryan Lodge (Athlete, Hollywood Avant Garde Academy) and Brian Nasr (Miami Westminster Christian) have been able to get their names out there by just attending as many events as possible.
Veteran Deon Parker (Miami Norland) has started more varsity games than anyone in this class, talented Aaron Parsons (Miami International Academy) has shown that he will do what it takes, and Miami Edison’s Kevin Wilson is up for any challenge.
