Here we go.
The 2025 state playoffs will get under way right here in south Florida tonight.
Six teams will get things started in three classes – with defending 3A state champion Miami Northwestern grabbing the spotlight.
The undefeated Bulls and first year head coach Jaquatin Victrum will kick things off as they look to get back and defend their title. They dominated last year and believe they can do the same thing.
They will host Northwestern graduate Derrick “Nitro” Baker and his team.
The Miami Palmetto Panthers and head coach Mike Manasco also starts the state playoffs as a No. 1 seed in 7A – which is something they haven’t been able to do in the past – with Miami Christopher Columbus standing in the way.
They will host veteran head coach Rocco Casullo and his much-improved team.
The other program starting things out as a No. 1 seed are head coach Helder Valle and the Royal Lions of Miami Immaculata LaSalle, who are unbeaten and are the favorites in a competitive region in 2A.
They will be hosting head coach/athletic director Rodney Smith and his talented program.
