Don’t look now, but someone woke the defending 4A state champion Booker T. Washington Tornadoes up.
Heading into the first round of the inaugural South Florida Tri-County Championships, first year head coach Gerald Cox and his football team have started to make some noise.
Losing to Miami Columbus (28-12) and North Miami Beach (20-14 OT), things began to change for a team that opted out of the state playoffs.
They beat Norland (32-7) and American (37-0) as they now hit the road to play at Glades Central.
Both the Tornadoes and Raiders (4-0) are set for a game that could turn out to be the best of the first round.
