South Dade Makes A Change At The Top

Over the past two seasons, Homestead South Dade’s football team was 14-10 with two state playoff appearances.

With the bar raising every year in Class 7A – with Miami Christopher Columbus leading the way – playing winning football may not be good enough.

As the Buccaneers head into the off-season a coaching change was made, and this program understands that losing 10 times may not be the recipe for making a dent among large schools in Florida.

Last week, the school made a change at the top as popular coach Patrick Burrows returns to the sideline in an attempt to put this program at the level with Columbus, Venice, Lake Mary, Sanford Seminole and other 7A schools who continue to make a legitimate push toward winning a state title.

It is no secret that South Dade has long been loaded with elite prospects as will be the case in 2025.

The rising senior (2026) class has a number of players coming back and will be infused with additional prospects along the way.

Here is a look at some of those prospects who are expected to lead the way this off-season:
