Pines Charter Captures ‘Kings of The Gardens’ 7-on-7 Title

MIAMI GARDENS – It’s getting to the point where being the favorite of St. Thomas University’s “King of The Gardens” 7-on-7 tournament may not be a route to winning the title.

Last year, two teams that weren’t picked to be in the finals of this event played until nearly 10 p.m. When Weston Cypress Bay beat Davie Nova, it was a surprise to many, so coming into this year’s event – with an offensive and defensive line camp going on at the same time – there were very few who chose head coach Carl Toussaint and his Jaguars of Pembroke Pines Charter.

This team, which competed all day, found it’s way to the title – and when they beat the tournament favorite, Hollywood McArthur, first year head coach Drew Davis and his staff at St. Thomas University once again showed that you have to bring your “A” game and play from start to finish to win this tournament.

THE JAGUARS GET SOME KEY PERFORMANCES

On a warm early summer day, Pines Charter counted on big plays, stingy defense and a total team effort to come away with the title.

Coach Toussaint and his assistants Coach Vett and Coach Ant guided this team through their bracket and then into pool play.
