This week we have four area programs taking part in the 2024 Florida high school football state championships.
While these young men are on the field looking to bring home a title to the #305 and #954, we will continue to shine a spotlight on prospects who may not be on everyone’s radar.
Today, we will look at two more programs (Plantation American Heritage and Miami Northwestern) who have helped to carry football in the Sunshine State.
Here are five players to keep an eye on:
2026 – Anthony Bell, OL, 6-4, 290, Miami Northwestern. Before the start of the season there was concern about the Bulls’ offensive line. Prospects like this have more than answered the question why this program is in the state finals. He has emerged as one of those quality big men, who has the size and athleticism to continue to grow and mature. Opens holes for the running games and continued to improve in his pass blocking. He gets up field as quickly as anyone on running plays. Keep an eye on this young man!

2025 – King Davis, RB, 5-10, 180, Miami Northwestern. A four-year varsity performer who started to make an impact as a freshman. Has the ability to get through holes and use his speed to turn a short gain into something special. It certainly has added balance to the offense with over 700 rushing yards.

2025 – Darius “Boobie” Johnson, WR, 5-11, 165, Miami Northwestern. If you’ve followed this impressive talent from the early days at Miami Edison to where he is today, you already know how impressive he is. On a team loaded with quality pass catchers, this Syracuse signee heads into the season finale with 40 catches and nine touchdowns. He is indeed for real!

2026 – Isaac Tanis, DL, Plantation American Heritage. On a team loaded with prospects who continued to step up, this one-time Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons standout has made a huge difference with the Patriots, coming up with seven sacks and 53 tackles during a year where this team ran a gauntlet of quality teams.

2026 – Rodarion Tellez, DL, 6-3, 220, Plantation American Heritage. While this team is looking for a state championship, looking into the future includes this prospect who came up with several key plays as a run stopper and someone who would make life tough on quarterbacks. Heading into the 4A game, he has 11 sacks and 73 tackles.
