Lineman Make A Statement At South Florida Combine

MIAMI – Whenever you attend football camps, there are numerous receivers, quarterbacks and defensive backs who attend with the idea of getting their name on the radar screen.

The one position that usually lacks in numbers are the offensive linemen. That was not the case last Sunday for the first South Florida Combine – Miami took place at Ives Park.

Attempting to not only jump on the radar screen but learn some technique, linemen in every class and at all skill levels took advantage of what was indeed an exciting exposure opportunity.

With a look at the quarterbacks, running backs and receivers the past few days, we wrap up the offensive side of the ball with some linemen who came out.

The offensive line position which has lacked in exposure for many years here in the state of Florida has seen an amazing change. There are more and more camps devoted to the “big men” and showcases that have brought more exposure to the top performers.

Colleges and universities have also added line camps to their 7-on-7 tournaments to keep players together and create more of a team concept.

2024

Blake Brewer, OC, 6-2, 270, Miami Christopher Columbus – 3.8 GPA. Here is a hard-working prospect who was a part of the Explorers’ 4M state championship team.

Amir Fairweather, OL, 6-6, 260, Fort Lauderdale Archbishop McCarthy – 3.2 GPA. This is someone who has the size, tests well and is in need of an opportunity to get playing time at the next level.

Roshaun Gardner, OG, 5-8, 240, Pompano Beach – 3.1 GPA. With an opportunity to have a bright future, this is a student/athlete who works hard to make an impact for years to come.

Benjamin Gula, OL, 6-5, 230, Weston Cypress Bay – 3.4 GPA. As part of an outstanding line unit, this is someone who may not have gotten the spotlight that others received. He has helped to open doors and will do anything it takes to succeed.

Nicholas Serrano, OC, 5-10, 238, Palm Bay Heritage – 3.87 GPA. Talk about someone who will do anything to succeed, here is a talented young man who has been at this since the 8th grade, setting the table for the future competing against top programs. His move to the Space Coast from south Florida well truly open eyes wide!

Josh Zeikowitz, OT, 6-5, 300, Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna – 3.8 GPA. As the Lions attempt to rebuild their offensive line for an amazing eighth straight trip to the state finals, it’s newcomers like this who brings so much to the table that has a chance to be very special. A big, strong and dedicated football player.

2025

Donovan Cherson, OC, 6-0, 200, Pompano Beach – 3.7 GPA. Yet another football player who is setting the table for a bright future by getting it done on the football field  and in the classroom.

Saji Rolle, OL, 6-1, 275, Boynton Beach – 3.96 GPA. Playing a big part in a state playoff run, this is well-rounded student/athlete who is willing to work hard to create positives.

Sebastian Ruiz, OT, 6-2, 233, Hialeah American – 3.9 GPA. On a team that is looking for leaders, this is certainly someone who is helping the Patriots turn the corner in a competitive south Florida. Remember the name!

Jake Santovenia, OT, 5-11, 240, Miami Archbishop Carroll – 3.32. When you look at the success this team has this past season, advancing to the state playoffs it’s because of solid coaching and developing talent like this.

Jaylin Torres, OL, 6-2, 250, Miramar – 2.7 GPA. It’s no mistake that the Patriots went three rounds deep in the state playoffs – with developing talent like this. With hard work, he can continue to become special.
