NEXT UP: Hallandale’s Edric Weldon Is An Emerging Force

This off-season, the one thing that you notice – right away – is the passion that south Florida athletes have for the game.

No matter what class they play in – or what college they have in mind, these athletes in continue to elevate their standing by competing year-round.

Having the pleasure of watching so many football prospects LIVE in game conditions, we have that opportunity to discover much more than the athletes that are hyped and pushed out by every recruiting service and fan website.

Anyone can watch a film and be an “expert”, but very few can make the effort to promote prospects nobody sees or talks about by watching them play.

WELDON PROFILE

PLAYER: Edric Weldon

POSITION: S

SCHOOL: Hallandale

CLASS: 2022

HEIGHT: 6-5

WEIGHT: 215

SCOUTING: The one thing about Hallandale High and defensive secondary coach Junior Rosegreen, when you come to play the Chargers and expect to pass against them, it certainly may not be wise to do so.

What Coach Rosegreen and the defensive staff preach is being versatile and knowing how to play every position in the secondary.

If you are a safety and play cornerback, you have a chance to learn coverage and loosen up your hips.

If you happen to play that corner and want to get more physical by playing that safety position, just sign up to attend Hallandale.

When watching Weldon play, he looks like he’s having fun. No matter if they play him at the safety position, corner or in the box on pass rush downs, this is prospect who has been getting plenty of attention – along with his teammates this winter/spring.

When we first talked about him three years ago – as a receiver and cornerback at Miramar Everglades, he was prospect to watch, and now everyone is watching.
