Varela’s Versatile Senior Will Franco Jr. Steps Up

As this season begins to wind down, the one thing that we continued to do during the pandemic and throughout 2020 is to promote every athlete in south Florida.

No matter what class they play in – or what college they have in mind, we will promote EVERY PROSPECT in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.

Having the pleasure of watching more football prospects LIVE in game conditions than any other source, we discover much more than the athletes that are hyped and pushed out by every recruiting service and fan website.

Anyone can watch a film and be an “expert”, but very few can make the effort to promote prospects nobody sees or talks about by watching them play.

THE FRANCO PROFILE

PLAYER: Will Franco, Jr.

POSITION: TE/DE

SCHOOL: Miami Varela

CLASS: 2021

HEIGHT: 6-3

WEIGHT: 210

SCOUTING: There is so much talent in south Florida, it is tough to discover all of it – without at least getting out to see many of these under-the-radar prospects.

The one thing that we have always done is try to look for those football players who aren’t getting the attention the deserve.

As fan websites and other promotional outlets concentrate on the star-rated athletes, it’s the thousands of athletes who slide by without getting that fanfare is what we love looking for.

In Franco, you have a gifted young man who can play this game – from either side of the ball.

As a tight end, he has the size, solid hands and creates mismatches with his ability to make huge catches for the Vipers.

When you have prospects like this, who has the size, athleticism and gets it done in the classroom, it’s frustrating to watch colleges completely miss out on student/athletes like this, but it happens all time.

With a few smaller offers in hand, Franco is definitely one of these talented football players who this pandemic truly affected – and not in a positive way.

The camps, combines, spring and summer events could have changed the way colleges view this young man – and with a positive attitude and plenty of passion to play this game, there is still time for him to catch the eye of some college coach, looking to make an impact.
