The Footsteps Are Large For Talented Senior Isaiah Thomas

The one thing that we will continue to do during this pandemic and throughout the 2020 season is promote every athlete in south Florida.

No matter what class they play in – or what college they have in mind, we will promote EVERY PROSPECT in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.

Having the pleasure of watching more football prospects LIVE in game conditions than any other source, we discover much more than the athletes that are hyped and pushed out by every recruiting service and fan website.

Anyone can watch a film and be an “expert”, but very few can make the effort to promote prospects nobody sees or talks about by watching them play.

THE TAYLOR PROFILE

PLAYER: Isaiah Taylor

POSITION: S

SCHOOL: Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas

CLASS: 2021

HEIGHT: 5-11

WEIGHT: 190

SCOUTING: In a half century of following and covering high school football in south Florida, you see countless sons following in their father’s footsteps in all sports.

While some call it a curse, others believe that using it as a successful path to the next level is a major advantage – and that is why this young man continues to get better and grab his own spotlight.

Being the son of Hall of Famer Jason Taylor has been a major plus for his two sons, who currently play for the Raiders. One of the big reasons is the involvement the father has - not only in their lives, but the entire team.

As many former NFL players get involved in the careers of their children, very few have had the opportunity to totally immerse themselves in the position like Jason Taylor has.

As an assistant coach – and now the Defensive Coordinator – he has been able to teach and mentor everyone – and that includes Isaiah, who happens to have one of the best work ethics on a team loaded with successful and recognized athletes.

His accolades and college interest is not because of what his father did as a player, but more of what Jason Taylor has been able to do as a coach, teaching this game with passion and knowledge.

If you ever watched Jason Taylor coach this sport, you would understand that nothing is taken for granted. He hates losing, will get in your face if it dictates and has passed that work ethic and passion on to everyone - including Isaiah.

As he enters his final year at the high school level, Isaiah Taylor has shown how versatile he is in the secondary – with cover skills, the ability to chase plays down and a knack of coming up with a game-changing interception, tackle or fumble recovery.

The fact that he has played multiple positions in his career has also been an asset. When he lines up at any position, he has a great feel of what’s happening on the other side of the ball.

If you see him out there, his football IQ shines through – and that is what will get him to the next level, and perhaps one day, beyond!
