NEXT UP: Taron Dickens Still Making A Difference

It has been a crazy off-season – with the pandemic still somewhat dictating what transpires on high school football fields across the country.

No matter what class they play in – or what college they have in mind, these athletes in south Florida continue to elevate their standing by competing pretty much year-round.

Having the pleasure of watching so many football prospects LIVE in game conditions, we have that opportunity to discover much more than the athletes that are hyped and pushed out by every recruiting service and fan website.

Anyone can watch a film and be an “expert”, but very few can make the effort to promote prospects nobody sees or talks about by watching them play.

DICKENS PROFILE

PLAYER: Taron Dickens

POSITION: QB

SCHOOL: Miami Northwestern

CLASS: 2023

HEIGHT: 5-11

WEIGHT: 180

SCOUTING: For as long as many can remember, here is someone who has been in a bright spotlight on the south Florida football scene.

Before he ever reached the high school level, many positive things were predicted for this young man, who picked up this game early and has continued to build on a foundation.

As he heads toward his junior season – after missing the state title game in 2020 – this is a talented young man, who still has arm strength and plenty of skill. He is also working on his decision making – which is important and something that college coaches are looking at.

Because the Bulls have provided him with a solid offensive line, impressive running backs and a stellar receiving corps, look for that maturity and experience to start shining through this coming season.

Watch him play and you like this his throwing motion and a knack of being able to use his legs – when his arm may not be getting the job done.

The difference between the Taron Dickens of 2021 vs. 2019 is you see so much of that talent we had all talked about, coming into his first two seasons, starting to emerge – and for the Bulls, who are working to get back to the state championship game – that is very important.
