As we have said in the past, there are many areas of the country where sibling are following in the footsteps of their parents, but for some reason, south Florida has always been a place where that happens more than most.

Because of the great weather – and the fact that football is easily one of the best from youth to high school, former players are staying in this region of the country, raising families and exposing their children to the best and most respected football programs anywhere in the nation.

Whether they played for the Miami Dolphins or not, many love being residents of Miami-Dade, Broward and throughout Palm Beach County, often getting their kids involved in youth programs and then sending them on to the next level – where coaching is indeed knowledgeable and experienced in dealing with such gifted football talent.

SCOUTING: When Oronde Gadsden played for the Miami Dolphins, he was regarded as a sure-handed receiver who left quite an impression on the franchise and its many fans.

Throughout the years, calling south Florida home, he got involved in just about everything and anything to do with football and the community.

Taking several coaching positions at the high school level, he learned that if his son was going to make it to the next level, his chances were greater being a part of the talent-filled process that is south Florida football.

For Orande Gadsden II, the opportunity to learn the sport from some outstanding coaches and being exposed to high-level competition is the reason that this quality receiver is being recruited so extensively this off season.

A skilled pass catcher with size, athletic ability and knowledge of the game. Being part of a coaching staff that includes his father, head coach Pat Surtain and so many others with an extensive background in the game, he has raised the level of his game and will be a major factor as the Patriots look to get back to the 5A state title game in 2020.

While having a father that played in the NFL is really no guarantee that a prospect will also land in that same position, it is important that the instruction and exposure to the game will give them a much better chance.

Gadsden has progressed every year, and when this season unfolds, he will be that much better and ready to become a leader on a very talented team.
